OK, guys, I'm having a problem with my 737NG 600-700 FMC and when I repeatedly refuse to acknowledge my wife's inane questions while I'm TRYING to concentrate, she threatens to go back to her mother. Well, if one of you guys can help me fix my FMC problem, she can cart her butt back to mommy and I'll not CARE a twit!Anyway, I've read and read and read, but for the life of me I cannot get the autopilot to follow the commands of the FMC. I'm sure I program it properly, engage the AP, click on LNAV and VNAV, but it won't change altitudes or follow speed changes. ANY ideas will be greatly appreciated.Joe

Have you also turned on the Flight Director on the MCP? Also make sure you've 'exec'd the route on the FMC.:-)

Also, your track after takeoff must be within an intercept angle of the bearing to the first fix in your flight plan. You didn't give us much to work with.. may a screen shot would help.

Thanks, Jeff, Yup, I believe all the right switches are pushed. I bought the DVD version of this product less than a year ago and I'm wondering if there are any upgrades. I went to the PMDG site and they only had updates for 1.2-1.3, or something like that. I suppose it's something simple but it sure is aggravating in the meantime. Thanks again for the links (I did see the 9-part tutorial on You Tube and will check out your other recommendation.Joe

Thank-you, Dan, for your prompt reply. It must be something simple I'm leaving out. Haven't upgraded to FS 9.1 yet because the buzz is that a lot of add-ons won't work with it. Maybe bad info, but I'm a little reluctant to try. One other thing: Do you manually have to reset the altitude knob on the 737 to a lower altitude, for example, if that's where the FMC says that's your next altitude restriction? I thought that the FMC would command the A/P to do it on its own--also the same with speed changes? The You Tube tutorial in nine parts was excellent, but still didn't answer some basic questions I have. I appreciate your help, Dan.Joe

Try deleting your FSUIPC.ini file in your modules folder and let it rebuild itself.

Sounds scary to me,Jeff, but I'll give it a rip. I'm also wondering if my GoFlight GF-MCP does anything that the 737 FMC doesn't like. Hmmmm....Also, will I have to redo all the assignments after I follow your suggestion? Just curious. Will let you know the results. Thanks, againJoe

Joe,Sorry, didn't know you had the full version. I'm not sure about that, but I think it would wipe them out. I'm not sure if there's a way or a seperate file for settings only.Didn't know you were also using 3rd party hardware. The problem could be there in their/your switch.Sorry...can't really take you any further than that. I think Lefteris here is the go flight expert, maybe he'll jump in for ya.
