737 install problems on Vista/FSX/FS9 combo

Hi,Just thought I asked the community while waiting for support guys:I have tried to install my original 737 (circa 2003) into FS9. The original installer always finds the FSX path so I have to edit it to find FS9(strange thing is that when you edit the path in the installer it always tacks FSX on the end which you have to delete again). This edit works okay for the 600/700 v1.2 and the update to 1.3. 1.3 runs okay in FS9. However, when I run the 800/900 installer it refuses to install and says that the 1.3 is needed. Unfortunately you cannot edit the path on that installer.I checked the 737 aircraft config and it is definitely 1.3 installed. I've run the FS9 registry fixer. I've uninstalled the 600/700 using the unisnstaller and re-installed again. I did a quick check of the forums.Edit: I run the installers as Administrator and in xp compatibility mode. I 've set the FS9 folder permissions to full access for anybody.Would appreciate any advice as I really want to reinstall the 737 before the 747.

Regards

Howard,If you're seeing FSX paths come up trying to install the NG, then your FS9 registry entries have gotten screwed up.Try using this repair tool:http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryIf that doesn't work you're unfortunately looking at reinstalling FS9. The FSX install screws with the entries for FS9 sometimes, we don't quite know why. If at all possible I'd install FSX first, then FS9 to avoid this.

Hi RyanThanks for the response. Ive already tried the tool. Don't fancy an FS9 re-install at the moment so I will just install the 747. I think that will work okay.

Hi Ryan,Just for info and future reference, I suspect that the Flight 1 tool does not work in Vista - anyway not for me. The FS9 path had magically been replaced with the FS10 path as you hinted. I had to manually edit back to normal in:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftmicrosoft gamesflight simulator9.0 under Exe path. Now the 737 installers work okay.
