December 13, 200718 yr I get this error 'egll err: sopit unknow' when using egll in my fms. Tried to look it up in this forum and re-installed my egll.txt from navdata - service (www.navdata.at), but with no success. What is wrong?
December 13, 200718 yr The likely problem is the sidstar file you are using (egll.txt) is using a fix named "sopit" but it is not defined.Navdata quit allowing uploads for updating PMDG products several months ago. You can get sidstars from Navigraph along with the Navdata, or you can try http://planepath.com where Terry has the current cycle available for US and UK. There is another bloke out there doing UK as well but I don't have his url. Finally, you can edit the sidstar and fix the problem yourself if you're into that kind of thing - but current stuff is out there. December 14, 200718 yr Hi,Sorry, I don't know your name as you don't give it....If you go to the Navdata site, and do a lookup on the SIDSTARS page for EGLL, the latest zipfile there DOES have the correct SIDs and STARs for Heathrow with the SOPIT intersection defined. This waypoint is located on the Bovingdon STAR (BNN4A) when you arrive into the Heathrow area from the north. There should also be a level constraint of FL150 overhead this waypoint. If you do not have the current AIRAC database for your FMC, you MAY get an error with your SID/STAR files but generally it should work ok.The other solution is to define SOPIT as a FIX using the PLACE/BEARING/DISTANCE function of the FMC. See the manual for more details on this.Hope this is helpful to you.Regards,Lee James Lee JamesDesktop Pilot - www.virtualairlinepilot.org Instagram - virtualairlinepilot_leeCheck out my Adventure Videos & FS Reviews on YouTube at VirtualAirlinePilot !
