March 3, 200818 yr I had this problem once before and now after a system crash while flying the 747 it's back. The Packs can be heard on all outside views, even in the tower. It seem like they are even louder than normal in the cockpit. This happened while flying the PAX model so last time I was able to load the cargo model and everything when back to normal. Someone from tech said to try pressing 'Q' twice to reset it. I've tried both methods and also an uninstall/reinstall, and it's still there.I can go to the add-on menu and under PMDG sound, uncheck the 'allow sounds to play in external views' and it will stop. But then I can't hear any warning sounds when in outside view.Since the 747 was completely reinstalled, I would think all of it's files are good to go. So is there some file in FSX that controls when to play the packs sound in the 747, that might have got corrupted?Jeff P.
March 3, 200818 yr There was an earlier thread that mentioned that if FSX focus is not on the simulator at the time of initialization then the packs will be loud.. maybe this is the problem? Dan Downs KCRP
March 4, 200818 yr Yeah that was the advice from my first post with the problem. But this latest crash I let it load completely without any interference. When my computer rebooted in the middle of a flight I think some file got corrupted. Edit- Hmmm, I just noticed that when I turn off the 'allow sounds to play in external views' in the add-on PMDG sound menu, I can hear cockpit warnings outside. I thought this was supposed to do the opposite?
