MD-11 type

Featured Replies

Will the md-11 be the er version/heavy version or the standard version. Also I have been looking on airliners.net and I have seen that some of the planes have different amounts of seats by the rows such as 2-4-3, 3-4-3, or 2-5-2. Will the md-11 have this feature or will it be a set payload capacity.

Steven, you'll be able to set the payload individually. How many seat rows and whether it is 9- or 10 seats abreast is no factor at all in regard to the aircraft's performance. Important is the weight the passengers will generate and that you can set for each flight as desired.Regards,Markus

Oh I think you also forgot to say what version it was being the heavy or the standard version.

There are no plans so far to model the ER version. This would require the fitting of additional auxiliary fuel tanks that will result in significant changes in the very complex fuel system that we have already modeled in full detail. At this time we would rather move towards the completion and release of the standard version instead of spending additional time for the ER modeling. However, the "heavy distribution" option which allows for an increased TOGW is modeled. This does not require additional tanks, but performs a special distribution to fuel tanks that allows the aircraft to carry a bit more fuel during taxi (630,500 lbs with "H" distribution, instead of 625,500 lbs with "L" distribution)
