744 Stuck on aircraft select screen

Featured Replies

I just installed Fs9 & FsX on Vista 64 mainly because I wanted to fly the 744 without an OOM error. All went well with FsX and I flew from KSFO - KMIA without an error!!! But with Fs9 I get to the AC select screen it loads the AIRAC & Navdata then just hangs with an hourglass. I can cancel out and select another AC no problem including the PMDG 737NG series. Any ideas?

I contacted PMDG's email support and tried reinstalling as suggested but still no joy. Since I haven't heard back from them I thought I'd try here again, any ideas...anyone?

John,Try removing and then reinstalling if you didn't already. Sometimes it seeems reinstalling the 744 on top of a faulty installation will not work.Hope it helps,

I have I reinstalled quite a number of times now, I even reinstalled Fs9 twice. I don't know what it is but I've never had any luck with this add-on in Fs9. On my previous set up I could routinely fly the LD763 or PSS752 8-9 hours without any problems, but my PMDG744 always crashed on finals or somewhere just short of my destination with an OOM error, despite trying the tips I found here including the 3gb switch. I assumed moving to a 64 bit set up would rid me of these crashes and now I can't even get past the selection screen!
