Cabinwindows lighs?

Featured Replies

Hi,Getting more and more comfortable with the MD-11 systems. :-)However, one thing I have noticed during the night flights, is that I can not find anywhere to switch on the cabin lights. It only works if I press the "L" key. But then also all the aircraft lights switches on.So,..where do I switch on only the cabinlights?

Staffan,There is no switch in the cockpit for that in the real aircraft. You can assign a keyboard command for that using the Addons->PMDG menu.

Do the cabin lights work on ALL the liveries?I assigned a keyboard switch to the lights and tested it out on the PMDG livery. It worked great!I am currently flying the Swissair livery, night flight from KMIA to LSZH, and cannot get the cabin lights to come on.Thanks.

Cabin lighting should be working for you on Swissair. I just loaded up Swissair in the sim to make sure everything was working, and everything was :-kewl.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/193876.jpgBest,http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...er_MD11_Vin.jpg

OK.... thanks for that. I finished the flight, closed FSX and restarted it to do some checks. Problem solved! It appears that I have problems when I load the saved "Dark & Cold" panel state (the default PMDG one):1. The nav lights and strobe lights are ON, although the A/C is "Cold & Dark", and ALL switches are OFF;2. With the A/C powered up, and the taxi light ON, the beam is offset to the side;3. The cabin lights do not work.I will continue testing, and probably create my own "Cold & Dark" save.

The issue with the taxi light is typically caused by having installed customized spotlight.bmp and/or fx2.bmp bitmaps (in the fsx/texture directory and fsx/effects/texture/ directories respectively). Restore those to FSX default, and it should solve the issue. In regards to the nav lights, we'll have to look into that to verify if that is a consistant issue.Best,http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...er_MD11_Vin.jpg
