October 22, 200817 yr Thanks to those whom answered me yesterday. I just want to be perfectly clear and need exact answers if someone could compare the default 737 , the default F18 from the accel pack (which runs slightly slower than the 737) and the new MD-11. I run the default airlines great, in ultra high res on a 3year old laptop which once was the best on the market (XPS Gen2).... most sliders are high, and I use AA and Ansio etc., again... great results, a smooth 24fps locked everywhere etc. etc... but, with the MD-11, how much loss will I get in VC flying, even if I use the built in framerate tweaks in the product, compared to those default jets? If it's like the F18, I'll buy.. if less, I will get the FS9 version...thanks for helping again, Peter James, Boston.
October 22, 200817 yr Commercial Member Hi PeterSeeing how cpu and memory intensive the MD-11 with FSX is I would recommend you get the FS9 version. As a quick test I loaded the Acceleration F18 at MegaAirport Heathrow 27L and was locked at 30 fps (my target framerate is set to 30). The exact same scenario with the MD-11 gets me 19 to 21 fps. This should tell you everything you need to know...Konrad Konrad
October 23, 200817 yr thank you so much, sadly, I'll wait... but I think the FS9 version will be great also. I appreciate your test for me... that does answer it all. I thought, because everyone was raving, this airplane was default frame rates... but it is the fact that everyone's computers are way faster today... eventhough I can run default FSX very well, but that is all for now. I have to get a new furnace for our home, I doubt the wife will lemme spend that money, on the laptop of my dreams! Ha ha.... heck, I fly Beechjets for a living, yet still must sim in my hotel room after the real flights!
October 23, 200817 yr I turn off the eye candy (autogen and AI) and get great FPS (24fps in VC, Q6600).Since its an airliner and you mostly fly at > FL300 do you need eyecandy, especially as you already get the 100% real eye candy in your day job!Wanna swap? :) Matthew S
