  1. No, not at all. The grass is comically oversized in urban areas and Asobo has really dropped the ball ⚽ on this issue. In fact I don't think Asobo will even be able to find the ball, given the grass is so long. 🤦‍♂️
  2. Sure but it's a question of what's plausible. Typically, in urban areas the vast majority of grass is mown regularly. Of course in rural/bush areas it's typically not mown regularly (if at all). Asobo could easily use shorter grass in urban areas (including urban airports). 🤷‍♂️
  3. It's an improvement but sorry, the grass in urban landscapes is too tall. It's fine for rural/bush areas. Just look out the window. 🤦‍♂️
  4. Fantastic news! Love the custom compression on the landing gear, really gives a good impression of weight. I wonder if v2 might also feature some heat blur from the engines (maybe in P3D?), that would be icing on the cake!
  5. Great! Picked it up just now for $4.99. The sale finishes in about 43 hrs before it returns to normal price of $24.99

  7. +1 for 767 (or 757)
  8. Fantastic news! Love the shadows. Also can't wait for the 747v2. PMDG & P3D == New "Golden Age" of Flight Simming!
  9. Great news! Think I'll buy P3D now that PMDG products will be released for it one day.
  10. Didn't realise you were talking about 300ER, for me I had issue with SP1 for the 200, so did uninstall of RTM and then reinstall of RTM/SP1 & reboot, and then no issues for me with the 200. I don't have the 300 yet.
  11. I had an activation error after installing the update (Can't remember the error message, but it was wanting to re-activate). In anycase I uninstalled the 777 and reinstalled the RTM and then SP1 and the activation error disappeared (it didnt try to re-activate, I'm guessing SP1 knew I was already activated). Maybe your issue is not related, but possibly try uninstalling RTM and then reinstalling RTM and SP1 like I did. Think somewhere along the line I also did a reboot which might also help with your network issues? SP1 is great, thanks PMDG! edit: I'm talking about the 777-200, I've not purchased the 777-300 yet.
  12. Whew! Welcome back! "there's no place like home"
  13. Does this happen in P3D?
  14. +1 My primary use of computer is for work purposes (I'm in IT and work from home), so upgrades are tax deductible.
  15. Great shot! Love the way the buildings to the right of the cockpit are in full sun whilst the buildings in the center of the picture are in shadow.
  16. Excellent support from the Prepar3d team!
  17. No simple 1 line explanation, maybe its too complex for that anyway. Is the following correct? Say an aircraft (without auto-trim) is flying at 250kts and the pilot has manually trimmed to maintain altitude (ie 0 fps VS). If the speed changes to 220 kts the pilot would be required to apply back pressure to stick to increase pitch and maintain 0 fps VS. The pilot could then manually trim the aircraft to maintain this pitch and thus no back pressure is required by the pilot. In the 777 with auto-trim the 777 will automatically trim the aircraft to maintain 0 fps VS rather than the pilot having to manually trim the aircraft using the yoke trim switches? If the pilot manually overrides the current trim by applying stick pressure then does he press the trim switches in order to tell the 777 to initiate the auto-trim and maintain the current pitch? Does it matter whether he presses the trim switches up or down? edit: Is the auto-trim trying to maintain the pitch or the FPA (flight path angle eg 3 degrees) or the VS? I could see that having it maintain the FPA would be handy because I could be descending at a FPA to hit the runway end markers and no matter how my speed changes (eg as I dial down to Vref + 5) the aircraft would be trimmed to maintain the FPA and thus still hit runway end markers.
  18. I too have found hand flying final difficult. Could somebody please explain in very simple, plain English "baby language" 1) What the auto-trim is meant to do in real life? 2) What the auto-trim is actually doing in FSX? Not withstanding this little "issue" above the 777 is an amazing achievement PMDG, congratulations!
  19. I use Reflect (Pro edition) http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx but the Free edition is good too (full drive image backups).
  20. I have two Intel 520 SSDs (240GB each, approx $300 each). I use one for the OS and one for FSX. IMHO you need to put FSX on a SSD for stutter free performance. I have a 2TB HDD for other (non fsx) data files. I think if you're spending $2k on hardware then you shouldn't skimp on a dedicated SSD for FSX, it's worth the extra $300.
  21. Excellent! I should not have worried, its PMDG after all. Instant buy as usual, thanks PMDG.
  22. Does the 777 have popup displays for the PFD and ND? I don't want 2D panels but I would like to dock the popup PFD and ND displays to a 2nd monitor (like I can with the 737NGX).
