You guys are amazing with the way you can come up with so many routes so quickly. Thanks to all of you who consistently provide responses to these requests. For me, I am on the lazy side and keep thinking it be really great if you could just cut and paste one of these directly into FSBuild so the short route format could be saved for the future, the full route built for you, export as a PIC flight plan to the FMCWP flightplans directory and to the FSNav directory, and then just enter on the COROUTE line. All with just a couple of clicks and typing EGLLKLAX a couple of times. If there is a toggle in FSBuild to allow that without having to edit (add the dashes and periods and take out the spaces) then, please, someone clue me in on it.

Support for this will be in Fsbuild-2It will be a lot more flexible in accepting flight plans from other sources.Regards.Ernie.

Ernie,I'd love to see FSBuild pay more attention to places where DPs and STAR's connect:Example - If I type KTUS-KPHX in, I get KTUS-AVQ-TOTEC-J11-TUKEE-KPHX, cut the correct real world route is KTUS.TUS6.SUNNS.SUNNS4.KPHX.I'd like to have the abiliity to select my DP and STAR and then have FSBuild just construct the enroute section to connect them...Also if you could put in an option to use the "dot" method of writing out a flightplan like I did above with a single dot being a connection and two dots beeing a direct from A to B, that would be cool too. In the case that it's already in there, how do I enable it?Thanks!Ryan

>I'd love to see FSBuild pay more attention to places where DPs and STAR's connect:>>Example - If I type KTUS-KPHX in, I get KTUS-AVQ-TOTEC-J11-TUKEE-KPHX, cut the correct real world route is >KTUS.TUS6.SUNNS.SUNNS4.KPHX.That's a tough question to answer.I'm very aware of this issue. But every airport, ATC sector etc etc has their own procedures, and they are constantly changing. That's makes it very difficult to do. They'll be something in this area, I prefer not to go into specifics now. Though I doubt it will be to the level or perfection you are thinking of.>I'd like to have the abiliity to select my DP and STAR and then have FSBuild just construct the enroute section to connect them...>>Also if you could put in an option to use the "dot" method of >writing out a flightplan like I did above with a single dot being a >connection and two dots beeing a direct from A to B, that would be >cool too. In the case that it's already in there, how do I enable it?I don't want to give out too much information about the program yet, Its still quite a ways from being complete. But in answer to your last question I reiterate my reply to Mike."It will be a lot more flexible in accepting flight plans from other sources"Regards Ernie.

I about fell out of my chair reading your replies Ernie. I have extensively used FSBuild for a long time now to store all of my routes. My original post was really just thrown out as a "wish". Looks like there is a Santa Claus after all. Thanks for your all of your work on such a helpful piece of freeware.

>just a question before the planned route does it show fixes airways >etc then you can select by hand the route....just a question...Your question unfortunately is in an area of which I can't reveal details just yet. Its a feature that is unique enough (well I think so anyway) for competitive reasons I need to keep it under wraps until the program is closer to release.I think it will be Beta sometime in June, so towards the end of the month I will be able to reveal more details and answer more questions (but don't hold me to any of that !!).Hope you understand.Regards.Ernie.

Phil,The route you posted above,, I understand most of what is on that routing format and centainly enough to grab off the route but can you porvide a link to a "tutorial" or an "aid" for understanding all of it? It would be interesting to not only know what is on there but why and how it is used. Thanks in advance,

Taking a stab at this..........> FLT PLAN: EGLL/KLAX MACH:M80 A/C: B763 Not much to explain - the plan has been calculated for M.80 in a B763.> ETD: 02/22.00ZEstimated departure time - The Second fo the month at 2200Z. They use this for all of the enroute calculations. The next section is for the fuel, time, and weight. This particular plan appears to be metric.> FUEL TIME CORR TOGWT LDGWT AVG W/C> DEST KLAX 058025 10.47 ------ 185519 127857 M010For the destination (KLAX) you need 58025 kg if fuel - that should be enough fuel for 10 hours 47 minutes - the next two number I think are Takeoff and Landing Gross Weight.> RESV 003286 00.45 ------Another 3286 kg for reserves (45 minutes worth).> ALTN 001589 00.20 ------ ALTN KONT DIST 0068 W/C P001Ontario (KONT) is the filed alternate - you need another 1589kg of fuel (20 mins worth) and it is 68nm from the filed destination (KLAX).> HOLD 002159 00.30 ------Another 2159kg (30 mins) for holding time.> REQD 065059 12.22 ------ BOW 091000 PAYLOAD 029823Now you get a subtotal from the above - 65059kg of fuel (12 hrs 22 mins worth). I think BOW is the empty weight (I only use ZFW) and the other obviously is the payload - I guess adding the two gives you the ZFW.> EXTRA 000000 00.00 ------No extra fuel> TAXI 000363363 kg for Taxi time (I think it's 10 mins worth).> TTL AT BO 065059 12.32 ------ DIST 4808So the total to fill is 65059 kg (12 hrs 32 misn worth) and the distance is 4808 nm.> EGLL BUZ3J BUZAD UT420 WELIN UA2 TNT UP6 MIMKU DCT 60N020W DCT> 63N030W DCT 64N040W DCT 64N050W DCT 63N060W DCT FEDDY N532E HML> J107 HEC YENNI1 KLAXThe filed route, DCT is DIRECT and not a waypoint.> EGLL/0340/IRLAV/0350No idea what this means.
