July 25, 200223 yr FSUIPC - or whatever that thing is, that automatically loads when I put 767 PIC on my hardive, totally corrupts my entire flight simulator by messing up my joystick and in particular it's rudder input. (FS2000 and FS2002) Everything is fine until I move the rudder, but then it's "centering" goes kaput and all I can do is run in circles - in all airplanes!!!!What is this program, how can I simply uninstall it alone, or better yet how can I fix this "bug"? I have a standard MS Sidewinder Precision Pro, and I don't think I'm the first one to run into this problem!? Please help shed some light on this please! :)
July 25, 200223 yr Simple. Just delete fsuipic.dll from the modules folder. No special "uninstallation" is needed. But personally I suspect something else is at play here - not FSUIPIC related.Michael J. Michael J.
July 25, 200223 yr First you should read the readme file that comes with FSUIPC to understand what it does and what it does not do. This discussion would take far to long to add the points on this thread.Put very basicly, FSUIPC is a program that allows many addon's to interface with MSFS. It is a very superior program, the author Pete Dawson is a genius on the very complex MSFS interfaces. I have worked with him for several years and know the quality of his work and the thousands, yes thousands of simmers that use FSUIPC. It does work very well with PIC and many other programs. What I belive is wrong with your system is that you have not calibrated your joystick as outlined in the readme file. Please read the manual and you will have a perfect system.Bob JohnsonDenver, CO
July 25, 200223 yr FSUIPC is a DLL that allows many external add-on programs (free ones and even commercial) communicate with FS.His owner Peter Dowson has consistently improved this DLL since the release of FS2000, so it's sound strange to me also that this DLL is causing you troubles. Please consider that MS Sidewinder is a well known (to Peter Dowson also I suppose) commercial product. In addition Peter has provided for very good documentation on this DLL, so before removing it from the Modules folder (if you are using addons they won't work anymore) you can try to read this documentation (if in your hand) or visit site http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlRamrin
July 25, 200223 yr Thanks all for the help. I was just at Peter's website, and your right, the guy knows what he's doing. I d/l'ed the newest version, and in fact the problem I was having was not from PIC at all, but rather some other good but older add-on scenery. I have re-formatted by HD more times because of those stupid .dll file errors it's pathetic - and the only way I learn computers seems to be trial-and-error!!! Thanks again for your tips! :)
