Popping & crackling sound problem

Featured Replies

Hi, after installing pic767 I have noticed a crackling and popping sound inside the cockpit views only. It seems to be when the engine sounds loop so every second or so. I emailed pic support and they suggested I uninstall all FS stuff and pic then reinstall. Was just wondering before I do that if anyone had any ideas as to whats causing this problem. I know its an FS2002 problem cause I even switched the soundcard with no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated.ThanksPhil

I have the same problem. I have FS2002 Pro running Win XP Pro SP1,with a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 sound card. For me I think that this is a driver issue. Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith

Possibly lower your sound accelaration in the DX diagnostic program found by going START - RUN - 'dxdiag' then the sound tab.

Try turning off the R & L RECIRC FAN on the overhead panel...DSCVA3339

I had this problem on Win9x (before I went to XP) w/ my SB Live! card. I ended up reducing the DirectSound acceleration and increasing the number of simultaneous WAV's to 32. I also uninstalled the Sound Fonts that are automatically installed with LiveWare!J
