Can you give me some little idea?

Featured Replies

hello guys! could you give me a little idea of what OS is the best for MSFS? i'm currently useing Windows ME, and planning to reinstall this few days. Does Windows XP better than ME in case of running performance for FS2002? and i always have a problem of running Activesky 1.5, after 2 hours, it fails to continue but left a messgare of runtime error overflow....i'm wondering this related to Windows ME. Any short idea would be helpful!

Let me tell you since I do have ALL Windows system, ME, XP, 98, 2000 and NT . And after using them all nothing compares to XP Pro. Once you try it you will never go back! Not changing over is like running FS 98 when you could have FS 2002. Best Wishes, Randy Smith

I agree. Had windows ME, was awful. Now with XP pro my FS2K2 runs faster, better framerates, less CTD's, and using external programs does not cause the sim to hang or slow down so much (progs like squawkbox, aerosoft 747MCP interface, acrobat reader for charts etc.)to make a long story short - XP pro must be your choice.Cheers,Ilan

Agree, XP is the best OS yet from MS, however I'm not sure if you really need XP pro. I use XP home without problems. Brgds,Arthur

Either is fine, I think Pro gives you some more networking options and is more like NT, which is why it's called pro, it's meant more for business.

and again - agreed.I am using the pro version, that's the only reason I said pro. Home should be just as good (unless you are plan building a PC network based home cockpit)Ilan

Thanks for so many nice ideas~ and for sure i'd choose XP.;) my only option now is to update to XP from ME, because i don't have the complete version of XP, does this ok or complete one is better?

Don't have complete version of XP? :-hmmm

While it is always better to go for a new full install with format etc, upgrading should not be a problem. As for Home or Pro, if you can get Pro vers do it. You will notice it if you have had both, trust me. I am a system tweak man and Pro suites me in that way. But in the end both are way better than Me and 98. Randy

Sorry about that~ :( i mean i don't have the full version of Windows XP, all i have is the update version of XP, and i panning to update from Windows ME, which installation you preferred?

Thank you very much..!! i'll try to get a full XP pro for my computer~:-sun1

Doesn't XP have a different file system than ME? That would mean that you would lose all your data.

Hi,I am using Windows 2000 Pro with Service Pack 3 and do not have any problems at all. Also didn
