Interesting one!That altimiter would be out of RVSM tolerance on a 767-300!At 39000ft the allowable tolerance between the captains and standby altimiters is 215-715ft! So anything below 215ft would mean no RVSM!At sea level the tolerance is 40ft.Normal variation is anything from 200-600ft depending on altitude.Here's a pic (blurry I know) taken heading south over the Indonesian island of Java. You can see that at 33000ft the standby is nearly 300ft (even though you cant see the pointer) above the primary altimiter (the tolerance at this altitude would be 130-630ft). You can also see the standby airspeed indicator reading about 10kts fast, which is also normal.http://www.users.on.net/roope/KIF_0428.JPG

If you had MSFS2k2 ATC you could have ignored him completely, but heard about him every :30 seconds....but the red letters makes'em easier to pick out amoung the bug-splatters.See ya on the lineTim

Oh my word ! I so wish I could take pictures like that ! I have looked up in the sky for the last 30 years watching planes, so nice to know that even real pilots that fly the 757/767 conribute to this forum......the pictures are just amazing for me, I only wish I was flying that plane..please post other in-flight photos if you have any.....thank you for pictures posted
