How can I turn up the volume of the Outer Marker beacon ? I fly over it and the light illuminates on the panel but there is no audible alert. Also when I disconnect the Autothrottle shouldn't there be a caution chime because I can't hear it ?I am still having trouble getting the aircraft to track the centreline after landing on an Autoland approach. The aircraft spears off the RWY after touchdown still.Any help would be very much appreciatedBARGE

There's 2 ways: 1) Start up one of the MS default aircraft and turn on the MKR button. Then switch to PIC. Then you can save your situation, and the setting will be preserved. This is probabally the fastest way. 2) Add the FS2K2 radio guage to the PIC lower panel. I followed the directions that were posted here a while ago, not sure what they are right now - I'm not at my FS machine. This takes a little longer, but will give you the selector button for the markers, and also the COM2 radio.Good luck!P

Won't the buttons on the radio panel work? Pr. default, only COM1 is active, but I'm pretty sure that MKR will also work. I'm at school now, but I'll check when I get home. When flying approaches, I usually activate the proper nav aids in order to make sure that it's the right frequency I've picked up (ie. looking at the approach chart and comparing the morse code to the one in my ears).

An easy solution is to add the following line to the "Window04" section of the panel.cfg file in the FS2002Aircraft767 PIC Wilco PublishingPanel folder:gauge07=Boeing777-300!Audio, 11, 453, 180This adds the Audio gauge from the default Boeing 777 to Pedestal panel for all the 767 PIC aircraft.

The Stiffster lives! We missed you around here Jim. Good to see you back posting. How are you and the little Stiffs doing these days anyway? Did you get that configuation problem (FS or PIC ?) figured out after restoring your system? I filed that STL-LGA route just to meet up with you that evening and then, poof, you were gone again leaving me to face King Hoyle all alone. :-lol

You're welcome Dan.There's another tweak to have the Marker switch on by default but I don't remember what it is. As it stands, after adding the Audio panel to the pedestal, you still have to switch it on. Maybe someone who knows the tweak to have it on by default will chime in.

Hi Mike,How are you doing? Yeah, I've finally gotten the urge to get back into simming. I've spent the last few weeks reinstalling and tweaking and I'm wondering what I've missed out on. I see a lot of threads about VFR views but I haven't installed any yet.Sorry to disappear so abruptly last week; the urge to sleep was so overwhelming that I barely managed to log off VATSIM before I passed out. I think I've solved the problem; I had installed the nVidia 40.82 drivers and it seemed to conflict with my FS2002 sound. I reverted to the 23.11 drivers and the problem disappeared so now I can fly with my headset. The 23.11s seem to work better with my GeForce 3 card anyway.Hopefully I'll see both you and Rob online tonight.

I think that might be my problem too. I have noticed a "crackling" sound after installing those 40.82s. You are right about the 23.11s being better for GF3 cards seeing that the recent drivers are developed more towards GF4. Best Wishes, Randy Smith

It might be worth investigating.I had to do a total reinstallation of Windows XP a few weeks ago and at that time I installed the 40.72 drivers since they were WHQL certified. Although the drivers worked very well otherwise and I loved the fly-out Control Panel, I noticed that my FS2002 sounds stuttered terribly.I had previously tried the 12.41, 21.83,29.42, 30.82, and 40.72 drivers at various times because they were all WHQL certified. On a hunch I decided to install the 23.11 series since they are the highest rated set on on www.guru3d.com even though they aren't WHQL certified.I am happy with the results since this seems to be the set of drivers best optimized for my basic GeForce 3 card. I'm seeing details I had never seen before; in all my hundreds of hours flying the 767 PIC panel, I've now noticed features I never did before. The fonts on the panel are noticeably crisper and maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't recall noticing before that the user inputs to the FMC are bolder and brighter than the other fonts.

OK, I found another tweak that keeps the Marker sounds permanently on without adding the Audio Panel to 767 PIC or without having to load a default aircraft first.1. Go the the FS2002/Flights/Other folder2. Right click on the "Fltsim.flt" file; choose "OPEN", then open the file using a text editor like Notepad.3. Scroll down to the section titled Avionics.4. Change the line "AudioMarkerListen=0" to "AudioMarkerListen=1"5. Save the file. Now your marker sounds will be permanently on without using any other tweaks. Thanks to HeavyFan for this tweak.

I loaded up the latest set of drivers a few weeks ago and I had improvements in everything. (using a GF2 TI) My detail is much better and the FMC looks just like your picture.

Hi Mike,I said hello to you last night while you were on your way to Jacksonville. I assume either your aircraft was on autopilot or your dog was flying.;)
