February 14, 200323 yr I'm writing for a "BIG" problem i have with PIC767 & my MCP, as i can not find anywhere any other information. I sent the same thread in Wilco's forum, without any solve and reply from wilco's support yet. Please for your help!!!What i want? To connect my custom made MCP hardware device with the PIC767's autopilot & MCP. I saw that the last PIC767's update/patch (ver 1.3 i think) was made to connect the PIC767 with the Aerosoft's MCP & other Hardware devices. So i decided to make my own MCP and i need the way how these two communicate!! Via FSUIPC, via any other DLL or EXE program? I can not find any documention in your site!I'm ready to make any change from my side to connect it, please any person from PIC767's support, or anyone else, tell me the way how to!!Best regardsOAL331
February 14, 200323 yr Hi,I have also done a MCP of my own that interfaces PERFECTLY with PIC767. I have done it using the FSBUS, which is a similar project than EPIC, only it is entirely FREE. The only drawback is that you have to etch your own PCBs and assemble & solder the PCBs yourself. Other than that the FSBUS is magnificient. You can make practically ANYTHING with it. It is straightforward to construct, program and use.See www.fsbus.de for more details.I couldn't get a reply from PIC-team myself, when I asked repeatedly from Wade if he could provide me with the principles of the Autopilot (ie. FSUIPC addresses etc.), so I could interface the MCP directly to the autopilot. Luckily FSBUS supports keyboard commands to be routed to rotary switches and all the other switches as well, so my MCP functions perfectly despite that minor annoyance.... And below is my self-made MCP with a perfect 767 layout. The picture below misses the now present front panel markings of the switches which is also very nice and resembles the 767 layout 100%.regardsTero PPL(A)
February 17, 200323 yr Author Tero thank you very much for your reply, but....... i have some questions more!!Do you have 7 segment diplays in your custom made MCP for the indications of Speed, Altitude, V/S & Heading ??If yes, how you synchronize the information between the PIC767's diplays and toy MCP's dipslays? I had try to emulate keyboard commands and i had in my MCP's display ALT 12000 and in PIC's MCP display ALT 11800 or any other number, because the emulation had lost some "increasing clicks" for the altitude. How Aerosoft is making this sychronization? Propably with last PIC767's update, is there a way that PIC communicate in 2 ways with the other devices. This documantation is what i'm looking for!!!Thanks a lotOAL331
