February 14, 200323 yr Hello all,I alway's start in a cold cockpit. When I am in a hurry I start normaly the engines with 'auto start' wich I configured in FSUIPC.Since a few day's autostart won't start my engines anymore. The left one spools up...and after that it fals back and stops? The right engine does nothing?I already uninstalled the PIC and re-installed it again!...nothing helps? All I can do now is let the PIC startup with its engines running :(Someone a clue?N.B. I don't use a startup situation!Thanksvortovor
February 14, 200323 yr hi vortovor, make sure the packs are switched off and the isolation switches are on. if that doesn Denis Kosbeck KPHX
February 14, 200323 yr To add to eurowing's offering, PROPER ENGINE START SEQUENCE ON THE GROUND:Each engine has two igniters. The ignition selector selects one or both igniters.Normally one igniter is used on the ground while both igniters are used for air starts.Ground start igniter selection should be made during pre start. Now we will start the right engine. Set the right start selector to GND {ground}. The VALVE light will iluminate and as the start valve opens to supply air to the starter, N2 accelerates, N1 increases and at 20% N2 or maximum motoring, you may position the fuel control switch to on. Maxium motoring is the point where N2 acceleration slows to a less than 1% increase in 5 seconds. Before you position the fuel control switch, verify that N2 is at least at 15%. You need to position the fuel control switch when acceleration stops at max mortoring. The spar and engine will lights illuminate brifly while the valves are opened. The ignighter is energized and lightoff should occure in 25 seconds indicated by a rapid rise in EGT. N1 and N2 will increase. Monitor EGT as it increases so that it does not exceed the start limit. The start limit is indicated on the EGT dial as a red line. At 50% the N2 starter cutout occures, the start selector moves to auto, the start valve closes and the igniter is deenergized. After the engine stabilizes at idle, the EGT start limit indicator is removed. N1 must be increasing within 30 seconds after N2 stabilizes at ilde. Engine oil pressure must be rising by the time the engine stabilizes at idle. The next time either engine is started, the other igniter will automatically selected. Of course this is for the real birdie :] Best Wishes,Randy J. February 15, 200323 yr Autostart won't work even after uninstalling PIC. " When I am in a hurry I start normaly the engines with 'auto start' wich I configured in FSUIPC" Here is the key for your problem as it concerns autostart. The FSUIPC "ini file" must be deleted and replaced. Then just start the engines like before, you don't need to mess with FSUIPC for this.Best Wishes,Randy J.
