March 12, 200323 yr It will not come on after landing or if you're taking off normally. Try this. On takeoff, raise gear and flaps, climb a bit then cut the power and let the bird sink at an excessive rate and see if this triggers some warnings like "Pull up Randy J Smith
March 13, 200323 yr HEY RANDY, YOU ARE ALWAYS THERE TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. BUT MAYBE YOU DIDN'T COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION. I AM AWARE OF THE COMPLETE FUNCTIONALITY OF GPWS. SORRY FOR NOT CLARIFYING MY TRUE INTENT IN MY ORIGINAL POST. IT WAS DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINT. NOW THAT I DO HAVE THE TIME, WHAT I MEANT WAS THAT ,GPWS WORKS FINE THE FIRST TIME AROUND. BUT HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO DO A TOUCH AND GO MORE THAN TWICE ON THE SAME RUNWAY(AFTER THE TURN AROUNDS, OFFCOURSE). IT SEEMS ON THE THIRD TIME, YOU DON'T HEAR THE WARNINGS OR THE ALTITUDE CALLOUTS(my main concern). I ALSO RUN FLIGHT DECK COMPANION WITH IT'S GPWS DISABLED. HAVING SAID THAT, FDC REQUIRES A RESET(Ctrl+Shft+a) AFTER EVERY LANDING TO RE-TRIGGER THE PROPER CALL OUTS. I WAS WONDERING IF THIS IS THE SAME CASE WITH PIC. I PREFER PIC'S GPWS OVER FDC'S AS IT SOMEHOW ONLY SOUNDS THROUGH MY center SPEAKERS ON MY SURROUND SOUND SETUP.
March 13, 200323 yr Please, don't shout! ;-)Regards Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
March 13, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi!First of all, pls don't write with caps on - it's annoying and some people will interpret it as shouting or being rude - I can understand them!Ok, while I don't have a cure for this, I too have noticed that sometimes you'll lose the RA callouts. Not only on go arounds (for me) but also when doing multiple flights. I don't have any special addons running so I doubt its caused by "interference".RegardsMark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
March 13, 200323 yr Hey Mats, glad you can add some inputs, I just want to make sure you can hear me all the way out there.:-lol As for the rest, I do apologize. My caps lock is always on for invoice inputs. I will refrain from caps-abuse in the future.Mark Thanks, I will take note. It's probably a random glitch.
