March 19, 200323 yr Hi guysI am using the PIC/POSKY merge and the other day I noticed landing lights no longer appear in the main panel view when u switch em on.Any ideas? They used to work but obviously I've changed something recently to stop them working. Thanks
March 19, 200323 yr Tom,I have had the EXACT same problem for a long time now, and it's the single most annoying thing, because I won't be able to use the landing lights in my landing views at all... ie. they won't show.I have been unsuccesful in tracking this problem down...Tero PPL(A)
March 20, 200323 yr Hi,If I press "w" I get the minipanel view with lights & rain/snow.When I press KP 2, I get Phil's VFR view.No need to shift view point each time.Pat
March 20, 200323 yr I'm sorry, could you be a little more clear on what you did to get that showing? If I press "W" and then keypad 2 it will bring up Phil's panel but since his panel is on a "fixedwindow" it does not show lights and rain etc. SO my question is, what did you modify to show the lights etc? We had {me and Phil} this panel on the minipanel view before but always had some black window showing amoung other things not displaying correctly. If I just push w THEN KP 2 it will not show what you have in your 1st screenshot. Best Wishes, Randy J. March 20, 200323 yr Hi,Sorry for not being clear. While in default PIC forward view, Press "w" to show the minipanel (you get the VFR panel w/ rain/lights). I just assigned the VFR panel to the minipanel view. Also adjusted the screen size setting and view point in the cfg file to get rid of the border around the scenery that you mentioned. There's no need to shift-enter/bksp to adjust the scenery view.I would press KP2 if in the non-minipanel view to get Phil's VFR view (w/o light and rain/snow). This view allows view panning using the hat switch and shows the various interior bmps (while in minipanel view, panning would result in no interior bmps being shown, except the forward VFR panel).Bonus is, while in the PIC default forward view, the outside lights like runway and taxiway lights are brighter due to the larger scenery size.I can post my cfg changes later if you're interested. It's been a while so I need to find the tweaks. This VFR view's great. The panel and glare shield are down where they should be on short final. If only PIC had a VC like RFP742....Pat
March 20, 200323 yr Thanks Pat, yes I would be very interested you your panel CFG file and the minipanel cfg. I am interested in this for my old VFR panel {see screenshot} which looks a lot like Phils but was made from scratch. My new VFR panel does have all this already and is on a forward view. Thanks again.Best Wishes, Randy J. March 20, 200323 yr Pat,That's exactly how I would like it to show.Could you be so kind as to post your cfgs here as well ?thanks!Tero PPL(A)
March 21, 200323 yr Hi,Here's what I did to get the minipanel view as shown here:Be sure to backup files just in case. Step1Change the following linesIn the 767PIC Panel.cfg(Views) 803,882,32,93gauge09=B767WAfds_0001!SMC, 1209,836,70,43The problem with this is that if you press "w" while flying non-767PIC jet model, FS will crash. But since I don't press "w" if flying another jet, it's not a problem for me.So, press "w" (while in normal 767PIC forward view) to get the VFR view w/ lights and rain/snow. press "w" to cycle out of the minipanel view to return to the normal 767PIC cockpit view. This should work.Pat
March 21, 200323 yr Whoa! Where the heck were you 6 months ago! LOL. I KNOW that that's not something you just read anywhere as regards to the correct entries to do what you have here. Thanks man, this will make a few buds stuck on my old version VFR very happy!Best Wishes, Randy J. March 21, 200323 yr Hi,Actually, I was reading all the postings here on how to implement this 6 months ago. Since I already had implemented step1 before the VFR panels came out, it worked for me right off the bat when someone suggested using the minipanel view.I couldn't upload the pictures so I held off until now.Just a couple of comments:> If you load a saved 767PIC flight after this change, the forward perspective will be scewed up. Will need to reload 767 to get the correct forward perspective.> Pressing "w" on another jet-type aircraft will result in FS crashing.Hope this will help make the PIC experience even better for others out there. Pat
March 21, 200323 yr Yes the dreaded saved flight syndrome. I never use the default minipanel and for the life of me cannot see why someone would want to. Yeah me and Phil had tried this {minipanel setup for our VFRs} but could not figure how to get around streching the default outside view which you just commented out in the cfg file. Thanks again for this info, maybe I can use this knowledge in a future project of some type.Best Wishes, Randy J. March 21, 200323 yr I don't ##### get it.I STILL can't see the lights from the cockpit. There's something seriously wrong somewhere, because I can't get the ##### lights to work, and it makes me angry. I think I'll just recycle my display drivers until it works. It can't be anything else...With default planes I'm able to see the lights and all, but not with PIC...Tero PPL(A)
March 21, 200323 yr Thanks so much Pat!This will definitely be something to look forward to for my VFR/LANDING View update... I had that set-up, but had to use SHIFT+ENTER, as you mentioned, every time. I simplified it by programming a joystick button; however, it was still an imperfect pain in the rear! Thanks again.Regards,Phil Geddesps It's official... after I graduate next year, I will train to be a USAF navigator!
March 22, 200323 yr I have done Randy Smith update into my Phil Geddes panels.cfg but I have lost this default view ---> B767W_R3window.bmp <--- maybe this is a found bug merge it. Has any one same view problem? all the rest is working fine! Guys and Do I have modified this correctly please? [VIEWS] view_forward_WINDOWS=0, //// VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3.5, 0.0, 0.0 comment out VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.95 VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=9.5, 0.0, 0.0 Do I need the first line? Im not sure when I were adding it into the 767 panel.cfg ... My las question is... How Can I set my favorite forward SHIFT + ENTER seat view position into the .CFG file? THANKS!!!!!!!!! GUYS!
March 22, 200323 yr Hi Phil,No problem, thanks for the VFR panel. It really improved 767PIC.Congrats on getting the nav slot!Pat
