April 7, 200323 yr hello fellow pilots can anybody tell me how does the APU intake on the posky 767 closes.Best Regards Adib Afraj Best Regards Adib Afraj
April 7, 200323 yr Hi,The Posky 767 APU intake can be closed by using your close and open cowl flaps command. You will have to go into your assignments menu off of the options tab to see the key commands as I have changed mine long ago and can't remember what the original assingments were. There is a patch available from the Wilco Publishing site that is addressed for third party software, but be warned, while this patch allows for the APU intake on the Posky 767's to be closed when the APU is shut down it also can cause some negative issues and many PIC users have reverted back to the original patch that made PIC compatible with FS2002. Also the only way to revert back is to uninstall and then reinstall PIC and that is a real pain...lol. So I would stick to using the cowl flaps commands to close or open the APU intake and stay away from the third party patch, but thats my opinion.Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns Team
April 7, 200323 yr Has anyone thought of creating a switch that can be placed on the overhead panel to toggle the APU door. If there is one out there, I have totally missed it. The key command is a pain in neck to remember and execute. Having a handy switch placed right below the APU Start switch would be handy as h&ll IMO. I know there are at least a dozen of you who could most likely do it. Anyone game to design something that will blend in nicely or at least have the appearance of belonging there? The default assignment could be used on the offering and then adjusted by the user by editing the file if required like in Van's case.Another PIC "Must Have" if you ask me.
April 7, 200323 yr Sounds like a great idea Mike, but in the meantime people can reassign the open/close cowl flaps command to a single key as I did. I use the - sign to open the APU intake and the = sign to close it. This way the commands are side by side on the keyboard and easy to remember and execute.Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns Team
April 7, 200323 yr Commercial Member CTRL/SHIFT+V OpenCTRL/SHIFT+C CloseThose aren't that hard to remember are they?Or use the 1.3 patch and they open and close automatically. ;)http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpgDS CVA3339 & UKD149 The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums
April 7, 200323 yr CTL/SHIFT+C has ended my party on more that one occasion as my fingers insist on missing the shift key. You know what that means?Hint: I do not set FS to confirm on exit.
April 7, 200323 yr There is already a switch position on the real 767 that opens the door...the 'ON' position on the APU switch. From 'OFF' to 'ON' opens the door, and 'START' starts the APU. The switch can be left in 'ON' with just the door open and the APU not running as long as 'START' is not selected. Bit of trivia for you!

April 8, 200323 yr That may be true for the real world 767's, but it doesn't work for the Posky 767's unless you have the third party patch and for those of us that want to stay away from that particular patch we have to use the open/close cowl flaps command.Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns Team
