April 11, 200323 yr UK to Canada over the North Atlantic! All the way out of EGLL to BURAK then TRACK "CHARLIE", crossing the ocean to YAY (in the good company of BAW738 on TRACK "ALPHA") and then weaving my way through a bunch of VOR's to YSO and finally CYYZ.Apparently I programmed the FMC properly. Apparently I used the 767 Dispatch(er) the way you are supposed to. Apparently I seem to 'basically' know what I am doing.Like at the Oscars, I have so many people to thank!! :-)Mike B and the gang that came down to Bolivia and introduced us to the PIC 767.Lee H for showing us how to merge it with POSKY textures. Steve D for his great LAB -300ER. Ilan J., Wagner B and Rob vL for the 767 Dispatch(er). And of course my wife who now, finally, has a very good reason to be upset (6:50 simulation time, 3:15 real time after 4x accross the pond).RobertoLAB2201 Roberto Stopnicki Toronto, Canada
April 11, 200323 yr Congratulations Roberto. It is certainly a feeling of accomplishment when you finally begin to understand how all the systems in 767 PIC are integrated, especially the FMC. :-lol
April 11, 200323 yr you know, i just thought of something... FMC = FeMale Creature... why does THAT suddenly bother me?
April 11, 200323 yr Hehe, well there's one reason I am glad for being single! Now if I could get someone to make some sexy leg add ons for pic, want list #?Best Wishes, Randy J. April 13, 200323 yr Great to see you make it happen. She is a beautiful thing when you get it together and complete a flight like that. Sorry I did not have to chance to make the trip with you Roberto. How did the fuel planning go?
April 13, 200323 yr Congratulation :) It is a great feeling of accomplishment to 'do it', and to get 'everything working' ;-)
April 13, 200323 yr Author Hi Guys:First of all, for those of you that are about to get married (those that are, already know, those that don't want to, "press one"...:-)) it is all a matter of balance. Give her two days of attention, and she will give you the other five (that is what I call a nice balance)...don't answer with "mmmhhmmm"....use terms like "That's fantastic!!!".....or "wow!!"... just make sure that you clearly understood the question! It is "bad form" to answer "THAT's FANTASTIC!!!" when the question was:..."I think I gained a lot of weight..don't you??" Mike. Regarding the PIC767 (the subject of this forum after all), the flight went "by the numbers"!! I was worried at landfall over YAY that my fuel would not be quite sufficient because I had had a 35-40kt headwind all the way, and the plan had called for 21.4K lbs on landing; I had 19.0K. I was impressed.I just mis-calculated my departure time (19Z). It is too early for the folks in Europe and you get on this side too early for the folks here. Next time, a couple of hours later will have me talking to a lot of controllers there and here.I have been flying the 767 around Bolivia where I can "hide" my mistakes, but taking it from a totally unfamiliar airport (EGLL, what do they call their taxiways??), accross a very unfamiliar system (NAT, why is CHARLIE better than BRAVO?) and make it home safely, was a nice sense of accomplishment.I still have lots to learn on how to program and use so many more features in the FMC (like HOLDS, etc.). the PIC767's I mean. I would never try to re-program my FMC at home. It has taken me many years and a whole bunch of kids to have her "perfect" and that is the way I want to keep her. She rolled her eyes and smiled when I told her that I just "got back" from England "all by myself".The perfect end to that flight.See you guys "up there".RobertoLAB2201 Roberto Stopnicki Toronto, Canada
