April 22, 200323 yr Works for me Ernie. I bought all three and swap them out when I get fustrated with one or the other. Eric
April 22, 200323 yr I like the idea alot. The weather for the day can also be an extrapalation between all three sources so we all have the same. Then we would set it in FS2002 and disable it in SB? Just a thought, But Mark will set the rules and I'll follow them.
April 24, 200323 yr I remember from the Great Trip Across the Pacific that there seemed to be large differences between the winds aloft generated by the various weather programs.Everyone was pretty much flying at .80, but some people had a headwind (30 knots, lets say) while others had a tailwind (say, 50 knots). Doesn't sounds like much, but that's 80 knots difference. Over a 7 hour flight like crossing the atlantic, that would be almost a hour and a half difference in trip time. My suggestion is for the rules to specify one, freely accessible weather program. I would prefer for it to be accurate, but the two might be mutually exclusive.Alex
April 24, 200323 yr Hey guys, just one question.Aren't flights crossing the Atlantic supposed to fly all a determined speed for separation purpose. If I don't go wrong it is MACH 0.84. The 767 can fly that fast, it's max cruise.I've seen a documentary on Discivery Channel about an Air Canada 767 flight from CYYZ to EDDF and they flew at Mach 0.84.Tell me if I'm wrong.BTW, with Active sky you have the option to download weather from the Vatsim servers and if I don't go wrong even FsMeteo 5.2 has this option. I have both. This way wouldn't the weather be same for all.Looking forward to it.Regards,Bjorn
April 24, 200323 yr Speaking of that program...I had it taped, but unfortunately I damaged it some time ago. If anyone happened to have taped it as well, let me know. I'm really interested in having it. It was on Discovery Canada...around fall of 1999... the show was called flight path and featured B763 flight from CYYZ TO EDDF. I hope someone has it. Thanks
