My Microsoft Forcefeedback version 1, just went caput...Which sould I get Logitech or Microsoft again??

Neither, put your money towards a quality yoke. If you can afford it, PFC has some very nice ones, they cost MUCH more but are much more realistic and nothing beats their quality. http://www.flypfc.com/entertainment%20products/yokes.htmlOr opt for CH yoke and peddle combo for under 200.00.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. I second Randy on that one. However if you use joysticks for games other than civil aviation sims, go for thrustmaster's HOTAS Cougar. Without a doubt thebest one ever, and well worth its (high) price.Ilan Jonas

I know the Other yoke and Cougar are alot better, but my budget (WIFE)will not allow me to spend that kind of cash..+ I fly other aviation sims aswell, so a yoke is no good to me..

Hehe (WIFE). I almost forgot what that was until you just reminded me LOL. It's all dark and misty now, and I pretend it was all a bad dream.. I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 (not force feedback) and it has been through seven children banging it around while they slam into walls in Nascar 2002, so it's been good for me and the wife would have not minded the price.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. The MS FF v1 stick is pretty much indestructable, I know mine has seen some bumps. The CH yoke is great, but the force feedback is missed when it comes to trimming the plane out and feeling "resistance" on the controls, especially for GA aircraft.Overall, the short time I spent on the CH yoke was fun and more realistic.Rob.

Just to add another choice to the mix :-) consider the SaiTek X45 combo. You get a stick and throttle with rudder control on the throttle, plenty of buttons but no feed-back.I know the Saitek programming s/ware can be a pig but if you are happy with setting the stick from the FS assignments things are OK.I have been using one for over 3 years and apart from a slight off-centre problem with the stick (corrected by FSUIPC) I have had no problems.I have since added CHPro Pedals which are better than the SaiTek rudder control but in all honesty the SiaTek rudder control is far better than the twist stick approach of the MFSW stick and the seperate throttle gives much more control.I think the X45 is about $70.Your choice :-)

jhayman,My opinion:#1: Purchase a yoke. The day I purchased my CH Yoke & Pedals I could not believe I had gone so long without them. It completely changed the simming experience for me. The problem of course with this option is $$$. This equipment is expensive. Worth the money - but expensive.#2: Microsoft FF2. A very durable and well constructed joystick. Mine has withstood the test of time - lots of hours of flight. The precision is still excellent, the buttons and throttle work well. The amount of buttons is OK (I think it has 8 plus the hat switch). The throttle also has stayed fairly stiff - while other joysticks i have noticed do not. The only bad things I can think about this joystick is that there does not appear to be a screw you can insert to disable the twist - and the fact that you must PLUG it in to AC POWER to enable the FF.#3: Logitech Wingman. I have owned Two Logitech joysticks and in my opinion they are poorly constructed. In both of my joysticks the throttle lever became very loose, and the twist motion of the joystick ceased to work properly and I could not fix it. The construction of the Hat Switch also appeared to be stiff - and that made it tough to stop from slipping between positions (as opposed to the great action on the MSFF2). Finally - the construction of the joystick made it hard for anyone to properly control the aircraft with their left hand as the moulding and position of the buttons is focused towards a right hander. I called Logitech for some support on the twisting problem (the first time it happened I assumed it was just my own actions - after the second time I changed my tune) and they left me hi and dry telling me I was "too rough" with the joystick. IMHO that is a total load of crap. The thing is poorly designed and they use low quality micro switches. My MSFF2 stick has seen 3 times the action of both the other sticks and it still works like the day I purchased it. I was quite upset about this - considering all of the other Logitech products I own both at home and for my office which perform perfectly. These are the only joysticks/yokes I have used in the past few years so I can not compare them against other products on the market. I use my yoke for 90% of my flying - and pull out the joystick when I fly my (gasp) Airbus or (gasp) Fighter Jets.Hope that helps bud.
