May 10, 200323 yr I am trying to install PIC767 into FS2002 on a machine on which it is already installed in the FS2000 folder. The install program only gives me the option to remove all files (obviously it is detecting the prior FS2000 installation), or to cancel. There is no option allowing me to select the FS2002 folder to install in.Is there any way I can force PIC to install into FS2002 without first removing the FS2000 version completely?
May 11, 200323 yr I don't think it's possible but if you had FS2000 on another partition it might work.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 11, 200323 yr Never tried it myself, but here is what CYUL767 wrote some time ago:" Hi. Here's another way to do it. Just rename your FS2000 folder for a moment. (Let say FS2010) then, you will be able to install 767PIC. Don't forget to rename it FS2000 after, or it will not work.Francois"
May 11, 200323 yr Author Thanks Randy and Francois. Unfortunately neither of your suggestions worked. :(Any other ideas please? I'd be sorry to have to lose the original FS2000 version from my HD.
May 11, 200323 yr There has been a description of an other way. Use this link to the old Forum. http://www.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID43/4864.html
May 13, 200323 yr Author I tried everything, renaming folders, removing all previous registry keys, and still it asked me if I wanted to remove previous files. There must be a hidden registry key somewhere. So I bit the bullet and let it remove the files. I probably won't miss them :)
May 20, 200323 yr I'm not sure if this will help or is related, but some time ago I had a problem similar to yours in trying to reinstall PIC into FS2002. After numerous emails with Wilco they sent me a program called "cleaner". I ran the program and was able to install PIC. The program is now one of the downloads on their web site, Wilcopublishing.com. If this info is new to you it might be of help.Regards, olflier
