May 14, 200323 yr Ok, just a few questions about the FS Build nav log printout. Most I understand. Just need clarification on a couple items. FSBUILD FLIGHT PLANFLT REL IFR DAL83 KATL/KLAS MACH 80 A/C B767-300 W/ 767PIC ADDON FUEL TIME CORR TOGWT LDGWT AVG W/CTAXI 003667 0019 . . . . 296385 257371 M065DEST KLAS 039015 0406 . . . .RESV 005814 0045 . . . .ALTN 002034 0015 . . . . Does that mean close to 40k pds of fuel left? Seems to much is left over?2) What does AVG W/C with the M065 under it mean?3) What does this mean: CLB BIAS -6.0 % CRZ BIAS -10.3 % DSC BIAS 0.0 %Thanks. Eric
May 14, 200323 yr 1. No, it's right on... it's your fuel calc (trip fuel only), your Block fuel (REQD) is 55,052 lbs / 0600 (6 hours)...bang on.2. Average Wind Component - Minus 65 knots (P065 would be positive). It is used to calculate your wind distance...which is really what matters in terms of your time/distance fuel burn calcs. What are you using for a weather program to generate that number?3. You don't need to worry about it.You may want to skim over the Flight planning forum or get a basic guide book to planning jargon/acronyms...it can be a little overwhelming at first.Rob.
May 14, 200323 yr To expand on Rob..>2) What does AVG W/C with the M065 under it mean? This number comes from the 'rtewinds.txt' file, it represents theaverage anuual route winds between ATL-LAS. Whenever you select an KATL-KLAS route -65 is automatically applied.Winds data from FSMeteo, and ActiveSky will take precedence over this value however. The rtewinds.txt data I never actually did finish, so you may see some updates to this in the near future.>3) What does this mean: CLB BIAS -6.0 % CRZ BIAS -10.3 % DSC BIAS >0.0 % The bias deviation from the base fuel burn numbers.Say the aircraft burns 2000 lbs per hour -6.0 is 6% less than the 2000 base or 1880 lbs per hour. This allows us to use the same base numbers for different variations of the same or similar aircraft. Like say maybe a 747 with a PW engine burns a bit more than a 747 with a RR Engine. We can use the same base numbers for both but adjust the Bias for the PW Engine or apply a Bias to simulate an aging aircraft. In this case through lots of testing Mike Bev came up with these Bias's for the deviation of the 767PIC aircraft fuel burn from the real 767-300's numbers. Also check out the Domestic Flight Planning document written by Marc brodbeck, in the libary section at Fsbuild.com it gives a pretty good description of the Navlog.http://www.fsbuild.com/documents.html Regards. Ernie.
May 14, 200323 yr Author Rob, I get my aloft wind data from FSMeteo v5.2. The winds aloft are bang on right now as I am flying the above route with what is printed on my nav log. Pretty damn neat if you ask me! Eric
