May 16, 200323 yr Greetings folks from the cool western shores of Lake Michigan. As I sit, reconfiguring my computer, it has dawn on me that I really don't have a clue about what's out there for PIC, and I have had it for nearly 2 years.I just installed the TCAS gauge from Lee Heatherington, and I love it.My biggest question is...What do you all use the most to make your flights better? If you post, could you post a link as well to make it easier to find if we are interested?Personally, I use the following...FS2002PIC 767 http://www.wilcopub.comPSS 747 http://www.phoenix-simulation.co.ukPSS 777 http://www.phoenix-simulation.co.ukWXre http://www.hifisim.comVATSIM http://www.vatsim.netMeljet 747 http://www.meljet.comMeljet 777 http://www.meljet.comCap'n Sim 727 http://www.captainsim.comAIBridge http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?DLID=28037What else is out there as far as utilities that I haven't found? I am sure there are several out there that are truly wonderful. I would be especially interested in PIC additions!Regards,J. May 16, 200323 yr Hi Jason,For PIC 767 Panel Additions you should have a look at my website, flightsim page, add on gauges section...Kind Regards,Nicohttp://www.nicokaan.nl/
May 16, 200323 yr Do you have my VFR landing panel? Nico's page makes no mention of it so here's the link although you will see it on the Bill's 767 flying club page :) http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?DLID=27197[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 17, 200323 yr So far so good,Randy, I have tried your panel, but to be honest it doesn't do anything for me, sorry. I just can't get used to the view for some reason. But thank you for suggesting it, and above all Thank you for taking the time to do it.Kinda like eggplant, it just doesn't agree with me.J. May 17, 200323 yr Randy,Thanks for your reminder. Although it's not really a gauge I'll make a reference to it on my site. Personally I don't use the VFR panel, because I find it hard to switch between the two, without loosing orientation. I am able to hand fly the bird during landing with the standard panel, although I must admit that I sometimes cheat by pushing the W-key (panel on of)... There's also an improved Upper Bitmap with a smaller left post going around (got it myself), but I don't know actually whether there is a source or not. So if someone could add to this...Cheers,Nicohttp://www.nicokaan.nl/
May 17, 200323 yr Well thanks Nico, I make mention of it because most long time PIC users do use it, and really it's the only one so far that's bug free while providing the added benfits of Landing lights and rain from the cockpit and many don't know it's available. Of course this is a personal choice, but it's no differn't than other vfr panels, in that it puts you in the *correct* seat and view for landing. Plus, many are still using my old version and have no idea that the newest one is greatly improved with much help and input from the great PIC drivers here like Mike bevington and Mark Mcgrath. Well thanks again.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]Are You Ready For The Next Great one?
