July 15, 200322 yr I have noticed that I have a black shadow around the RMI lower two knobs and the clock lower two knobs. These shadows block out the lettering associated with the two knobs on the clock almost completely. It only does this in the "Day" not the "Dawn, Dusk or Night." Does anyone else have this problem or noticed this? The knobs work fine, it's something I just noticed, for all I know it could have been that way.
July 15, 200322 yr Commercial Member I haven't noticed that, BUT...Have you noticed that when you open a can of beer, there is a momentary exhalation/rush/spritz of air that exits the can? I'm not sure that it should do that or even if there is a scientific descriprion that would explain this, but it fascinates the heck out of me. Thought I would share that with you all.DS CVA3339 / UKD149System: Attlon 900 McW Hamster/Gerbilized Quantum Accessible 55Gig Iodized-Encrusted Four-poster with Mega-brill Farzenhuuven http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums

If I remember correctly the workaround was to switch off the panel flood lightning and then setting time to night and then back to day. Those shadows should now be gone. I'm not completely sure if this was the exact workaround for the problem but it had something to do with the flood lightning.

http://mikael.svly.net/mikael.gif

fisd.fsnordic.net]
[/TABLE
July 15, 200322 yr Mikael - Thanks for the TIP! It worked as you said and the shadows are gone. I thought it had something to do with lighting, but that's as far as it went. Thanks again - Ed Grabel
July 15, 200322 yr HEy DStry a can of coke and let me know if it does the same ;-)ahh, no i'm not gonna go into a scientific description of the process of this fenomena....Cheers
July 15, 200322 yr Hi Ed,rather than changing the time of day, just press 'L' a couple of times, and it should go away. Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
July 15, 200322 yr Gosta ,This is interesting. Changing the time of day leaves the new VSI TCAS outer frame much darker than the rest of the panel instruments. Pressing the L key a few times removes the dark shadows and returns the VSI frame to the proper color. Also, when switching from a window view to full screen or back again I hear the same licking sounds as made when the flood light switch or landing light switch is used. Then I have to press the L key a few times because the problem re-occures when switching back and forth, full screen to window view or back to full screen it goes away. Thanks again for the TIP.Ed Grabel
July 15, 200322 yr Hitting SHIFT-L a few times will clear it up.DS: I've noticed the same thing down here on the East Coast, so it is not an anomoly limited to your side of the country.I think further study is needed and I will be opening several more cans this week in the name of science.
July 15, 200322 yr Really? I've never seen that and I have changed time of day extensively in testing. Could you describe an exact scenario that produces this for you? Location, time of day, panel light position, new time of day, etc.? Is it not turning on the "lit" bitmap when it should?Lee Hetherington (KBED)
July 15, 200322 yr Hello LeeThe darker frame seems to occur with the flood light switch in the off position when going from window view to full screen or back again with the flood light switch in the "off" position. With the flood light switch "on" the frame remains the proper color when changing views. It appears to do this only in Day, not Dawn, Dusk, or Night. Thanks for the TCAS system it's great!Ed Grabel
July 15, 200322 yr I can duplicate the problem, which means I can fix it. I'll post when it is fixed.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
July 15, 200322 yr Commercial Member Lee Hetherington is a God. Not a demi, or an ersatz or even a mondo... he is the real deal: a full-on, in yer face, smoke'em if you got'em GOD.BTW, I began to experiment with opening beer cans on my flight to KJFK from LGAV last night. I was into my 6th hour & 7th experiment (about halfway across the Atlantic) when I was sucked into a some sort of black hole and ended up in Lost Wages where several drunken Canuckleheads (Canadians)(Hall 856, Caulart 303 and Elchitz 301) were congregating. I was forced to fly to KLAX on a SID that I did not recognize, and nearly collided with 856 several times during the climb out. Then, something went terribly wrong during the flight (it may have been due to the black hole, or perhaps the 8th beer) but now I can only bank my 767 5 degrees to the left. My question: Lee, could you try to duplicate my experience? Then provide a fix? If you can't I'm stuck doing drunken slow left-handers for eternity.DS CVA3339 / UKD149System: Attlon 900 McW Hamster/Gerbilized Quantum Accessible 55Gig Iodized-Encrusted Four-poster with Mega-brill Farzenhuuven http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums
July 15, 200322 yr A bank angle of 5 degrees + the bank angle of 5 brew (20 deg) = a total bank angle of 25. All is fine as I seeze it.
