Out of Control

Featured Replies

My PIC767 has started to go out of control. If I dont watch it, it will suddenly start to climb.A really steep climb which shortly causes a stall. Usually, nothing I do will get it out of this climb. This happens on every trip and irrespective of whether or not I`m using the FMC. I`ve even tried un-installing and re-installing and nothing seems to work.I`d be grateful if someone could advise as to the possible cause.Cheers, crashproof

Does this occur on take-off, during the climb phase, during cruise? Check the trim settings on the pedestal. How much fuel are you carrying?DS CVA3339 / UKD149System: Attlon 900 McW Hamster/Gerbilized Quantum Accessible 55Gig Iodized-Encrusted Four-poster with Mega-brill Farzenhuuven http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

Many thanks! You were spot on with the trim on the pedestal. The Stab/Trim levers were half way down. I put them back up and it`s been working fine since.Cheers, crashproof

I watched it every minute it was in the air. That was how I knew that it was suddenly climbing. The thing is there`s very little info on the stab/trim setting. I don`t know how it came to be engaged. The only thing I can think is that when I was using the spoilers, I may accidently have pulled it down.Don`t forget that I also did a re-install which didn`t cure the problem. No - I don`t leave the plane to it`s own devices when in manual control. As I said in my orignal post, this happened with and without the FMC controlling the plane.crashproof
