December 9, 200322 yr Flew Honolulu to Tokyo (FS2k2). Lost IRU's crossing 180* longitude. Remember this was also a problem in FS2000. Is there a fix? lr.
December 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member Nope - no fix. Just let the plane fly - after five minutes or so all systems back to normal.Daryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums
December 9, 200322 yr must be scary though5 minutes on a plane with mr D.S. not knowing exactly where the plane is so not exactly knowing where D.S. is... hrmm ;) Cheers
December 10, 200322 yr I didn't know about the "5 minute fix", but I'll check it next time. I went to ATT on the IRS's. RadarContactv3 gives a direct- line heading and distance (not great circle)in their clearance window so that got me within range to pick up a VOR. The real prob was I had to hand fly it from there to RJAA, I don't remeber, maybe 4-5 hours. Thanks, lr.
January 9, 200422 yr I was once scared with this issue too. The '5 minutes' rule really works. I like to make transpolar flights, from Rio Gallegos - Argentina to Auckland - New Zealand. On my first attempt I had a general IRS 'failure' which almost made me swallow my heart. After a couple of minutes trying to figure out what happened it resumed it's normal operation.Curiously the PSS A330 does not suffer from this issue, but the ND route path gets wacky close to the standard anti-meridian. The route, instead of being straight or curvy, get's like a V. Don't worry about this issue and believe me that the 767 PIC is the most reliable and accurate panel EVER made. I just wonder how the PIC V2 will be . Regards from Brazil :-beerchug ,Ricardo RamosTBA704 Captain - Vatsim 869800Iguassu Falls, Brazil
January 9, 200422 yr Commercial Member This has become a PIC trademark, I'd hate to take it out now. That and the GPWS wakeup call ;-)Wade
January 9, 200422 yr you know Wade, that wakeup call allmost killed me one time...i had all my sound set up on the big stereo... and suddenly, it happened..., it has become a familiar sound now though...
January 10, 200422 yr Hi,There a similar thread started by me a while ago on this forum.Kinda funny though - I had lots of fun going from "half asleep" mode to "where on earth do I land now" in a sec.BTW, my panel does not came back after five min. All I can do is get ATT. IRS position never returns.Best RegardsSpiros HazapisAthens, GreecePS This wait for PIC v2 is costing me LOTS of HD space! :-) Looks FS2002 will stay in for quite a while!
January 12, 200422 yr In fact I hade the same situation when making a real long haul from NZAA (New Zealand) to KLAX. The ND got blank but the autopilot remained in LNAV/VNAV. The INS position was shown as before. After a few minutes - w
