August 7, 200421 yr Some of you might have already noticed that in the latest cycle of charts they have replaced the MITTS1 arrival with the MITTS2 arrival into KLAX.The MITTS1 was simply the "twin" arrival of the CIVET that allowed aircraft quick access to the north terminal by landing on 24R (Good for SWA, AWE, ACA, and others) while the CIVET lined up those for the south terminals at 25L.The new MITTS2 arrival is more of a "twin" of the Paradise arrival. A full profile descent with runway transitions to 24R, 24L, 25R, and 25L. Many of us are of the opinion that this arrival spells the "end" of the CIVET arrival (as the 25L transition is in essence the CIVET arrival). Finally - the new arrival adds the addition of a transition to CIVET from the PGS (Peach Springs) VOR. Now those coming from the TBC area may choose to take J64 or J128 (through the restricted R2503 airspace).Enough of my blabbing - I've included a link to the new MITTS arrival below as well as a link to the STAR and Approach Transitions for use in your PIC FMC. One thing to note is that you probably need AIRAC 0408 to use the MITTS arrival as there are some new waypoints included. I did my best to test them all - if anyone has any comments and or suggestions please advise. Those of you who fly on VATSIM, The ZLA center and SoCal controllers have been briefed on how to handle the new arrival and would love some practice. I ask that you try and file the MITTS2 when heading in from HEC or PGS and of course remember that if headed in from the east via TNP or JLI you are still expected to have the PDZ (Paradise) arrival ready to go.See you in the skies.Ian.PDZ4, MITTS2, and all other KLAX charts -->http://www.laartcc.org/airport/KLAXMITTS2 PIC Procedures --> http://www.eleventhstreet.com/pic/pic_mitts2.zip
