February 10, 200521 yr http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=7642...=COCKPIT&size=LI've seen this kind of thing on several other aircraft types as well, but this one is on a 767. Does anyone know what it's for?-Lee Barberhttp://home.nc.rr.com/uniuniunium/dvasig.jpg Lee Barber - Rochester, NY PPL-G
February 10, 200521 yr Commercial Member As there are no keys for aircraft, this method was introduced to stop pilots from different airlines stealing aircraft. You have to enter the correct code to be able to turn on the battery.Just kidding!!Its nothing fancy, simply just a small timer (bascially the same thing you have at home to know when your boiled eggs are done!)Can be used for different purposes, such as a "wake-up" call for the crew should they fall asleep. There is a new 767 EICAS option called "PILOT RESPONSE" which monitors different buttons/switches for activity. Should no activity take place for a specified period of time, different cautions/warnings will be made.Regards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
February 11, 200521 yr Just for future airliners.net linking pleasure, they include a simple link at the top of the page, so you don't have to include all the search/page number trash.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/764245/L/
February 11, 200521 yr >Does it work on the LEVELD version?????I'm sure it would work fine... if LDS decided to include one ;-)Mark: I believe it is only fitted to freighters... as the pilots have to cook their own eggs :(Cheers.Ian.
