May I just post a BIG thanks to the guys from Vatsim in Israel and Turkey for there help. This to me is what this great hobby of ours encompasses, a world wide time for each othere.I asked these guys if they could help with a flight that our VA were flying Istanbul to Israel, and could they help with ATC for the flight.NOT only did they say yes to but also suggested to me that Nicosia ATC could also be on-line.It was done in a day or so and times routes and plans formed.I would recommend that Pilots. VAs. fly to these places and you are sure of a great welcome and the very best of service. I salute you Gentlemem. BCA20 Britannic VA.

YesTwo great places to fly. I tried Israel some days ago and it was great, Turkey also has one of the best VACC sites. These two and Greece give a nice place to try different flights since they are not so distant from each other. But for me the top for ATC chalanges is Russia that meters feet conversions, Km/h Knots and NDB navigation really is an experience.Jos

I flew to russia in a full sized homebuilt 747 sim based on PS1 747 pro and various addons (and physical nobs, yokes, pedals, throttles, overhead, autopilot etc etc) on vatsim. It was the most stressfull experience I'v ever had flying online! aaah! Descend to 3100 metres... look at the chart... something like Flight level 274.3 or something equally strange in feet... got a star... and it wasn't in the database! aah! got vectors... ATC got our callsign confused and he told us to descend to say 3000 metres when we were already at 2000, got confused when he told us to slow to a speed which was way higher than I expected it to be below 10,000ft... and then of course, it was Km not Kt Finally got it on localizer after having overflown UUEE (our destination) about 15 minutes prior (that's the longest vecor I'v seen!) and then just as we were going gear down... the system crashed. :( Then I had to go to work cos Worldflight had run 1.2 hours overtime (ie we were late by over 1 and a half hours) and got to work late! :( and trying to explain why I was late wasn't fun...*I was in Moscow*sure*Yeah I really was!*mm yeah, whatever...LOL
