ServInfo Down?

Featured Replies

Am I correct in assuming that ServInfo or their Server has been down and not operational in the last twelve or fourteen hours? Anybody been able to get info? Yesterday about this time everything was fine, but since late last night until now, all I get is their Server Data Warning.Just did some work on my computer and want to be sure it isn't me.Thanks:RTH

What you mean is the Vatsim server(s). I have had the same very problem. For some reason, the data is old---has not been updated since last night 20:58 UTC.So it is not your machine

Thanks Ejiro.

Actually, the VATSIM Servers are NOT down. There is just a problem with the DATA Server that feeds information to Servinfo and other Data Applications. From the VATSIM Pilot Resource Center FAQThe network doesn't "go down" per se, as it is comprised of a number of servers, each being able to handle traffic anywhere. However, the status information that is displayed on ServInfo and Wazzup does not come directly from the network servers, but is instead fed to other servers set aside for the purpose of displaying this info. This keeps the network servers from taking on the burden of supplying info to many ServInfo clients. Sometimes the data being feed to these data sources is interrupted. ServInfo and Wazzup may not show accurate information. THE ONLY 100% RELIABLE WAY TO TELL WHO IS ON THE NETWORK IS TO LOG ON.So - in short - VATSIM IS NOT DOWN. The Data Server goes down from time to time. Don't let it stop you from logging on and flying. We are still flying and controlling - RIGHT NOW.AHope that explains this common misconception.
