  2. Hi Folks. Can anyone please tell me what the maximum allowable value is for goods imported to the United States, before one would be required to pay taxes or duties? Is there such a value, below which taxes or duties are not applicable?I would like to get a model aircraft kit from a Canadian designer, and have to ship it to the US first, before I can bring it where I live. (Outside US).Thanks in advance
  3. >P.S. - this post also serves the purpose of posting once per 6>months (or whatever the time requirement is) ;-)Now that is a really good way to keep your account active!! I think that I'll just copy you!!}(
  4. Yes Sir, there are. I run (well used to run, since I have not simmed in a long while now) FS 2002 pro on my main pc, while I have all the others (Active Sky wxRE, FS RealTime, ServerInfo, Vatsim's AVC, and SquawkBox) on the second pc. This allows me to have the best performance possible with the hardware I have. What is really cool is that the second pc I use to run all these programs is an old pentium II running at 233 Mhz, and 256 Mb of SDRAM.The important thing to remember is that you need WideFS to interface both computers. I don't know if there is anyway to make it work otherwise.Good Luck!

  6. These are really nice pictures. Thanks for posting them.
  7. Thank you very much, Mats, for sharing the solution. I had exactly the same problem, but it is now gone after I got rid of the AF2*.bgl files.
  8. >I speak fluent pidgin English if that is any help>>ScottScott, Where you for speak pidgin reach?
  9. I sure will Sir. Thanks for all your support.
  10. Disable forced winds updates is off...
  11. Hello Damian and Jim, I have been using this for a few days now. Seems Ok. One thing did happen this morning that you may be interested in: For some reason, it seems that I was stuck with high aloft winds (43kts) until touchown at EFMA. First time I have seen this is a long time. I did not use the destination force option, could that be the reason why? Thanks for all your support.
  12. Thank You very much for the information. I see that this is in the US; learning to fly under the wing of the CAP will be no good to me, because I am not in the US.
  13. If you have the assigments set correctly, and still have the problem, you can download the CH control manager from the CH products web site. Use that to set a small null zone. That solved the problem for me.
  14. Pardon me, Mike, and Jim for coming in here, but I do have a related question and hope that you do not mind.Is the source of the wind data the same for both AS 2004 and wxRE 1.92? The reason I ask is that I too use v 1.92 and currently have no winds. I figured that if the winds were absent in AS 2004 as well, someone else may have already posted to ask why. Thanks in advance, and best regards
  15. >>In the US, you can estimate spending about $4000-8000 US for a PPL.<
  16. Thanks again, Ken for the link. There is a lot of useful information on this site.
  17. Thank You very much, Gentlemen for your replies.I am trying to evaluate the possibility of getting my ppl.
  18. Dear people, Could someone please give me a rough idea of how much it costs to rent a typical single engined trainer, such as the C 172.I do realize that this will vary greatly from one region to another, so I would also appreciate if you could tell me your geographical location as well.I am especially interested in prices from Europe and the USA.Thank you in advance.
  19. >Yes that RAM will definiatly hold you back too. Memory>bandwidth and memory latency means so much for games. However>512 mb should be enough for FS 2002.>Please could be kind enough as to elaborate? I am afraid I do not understand what these term mean exactly. Is it that to say that 133 PC Ram is not good enough? Thanks a lot for the links, and for your help so far.
  20. Thank You, Dear Sir for your suggestions. No you are not banging on a closed door. Actually I am not surprised that the limitation is from the PCI bus; I have done a small bit of reading after I mad this post, and that was suggested as well. The RAM I currently have is SDRAM; two DIMM sticks of PC133 RAM each on 512MB. I know that even this is old technology, but I will live with it for the next year at least. My "Flytendo" was homebuilt; I out it together myself from a pre-selected list of components. (I did not do the selectin myself; it was available as one package from the website I found it on. Not that I would have made a better selection at the time.)The power supply is rated at 300W.Thank you again for the suggestions. I will investigate this option and see how it plays out. Would you happen to have any suggestions as to web sites where I could find such cheap components? I live in Norway, if that is any help. Thanks again, and best regardsEjiro.
  21. No I will not use FS 2004. I will go directly to 2006, the same way I did from FS 98 to 2002. And by the time I want to go to FS 2006, I will have a new pc for sure. I just hope that it will be good enough.Certainly when buying outdated components, used is the way to go. It can be soo much cheaper. Not that I am complaining with what I have now. I know the limitations, and live with them. Works good for me. Just that from time to time, the temptation to make it better comes!Thank you for your advice.
  22. Thanks for the advice. i guess you are right. Best is to leave it the way it is until time to upgrade. I believe that this will be in time for FS 2006 (if there will be an FS 2006).I was looking to buy a used card that would be a minimal investment. Perhaps was not a good idea. I can live with what I have got till it is time to by a new PC.
  23. Thank you for your response.Yes that would be nice. (Changing the motherboard and the whole system). But as I said in the original post, I cannot afford to do that. So the question is: Is there a better PCI card out there than the GeForceMX420?
