July 7, 200421 yr FS2002ProGeesh All of the sudden, I think when Im flying out west my heading indicator, compass and ADI are incorrect and way off. Is this a bug or did I do sometning I cant remember? Is there a file I need to fix or replace? Also I have a weired thing happening to ant asphalt textures on my runways. Even in daylight it seems like i have landing lights on or something. I can live with this but the compass problem is way ouy of line.Any help out there would be appreciatedDiz
July 7, 200421 yr Gyro Drift is not on and never has been. I thought of that one!Its not driftimg it's readiing 40 to 180 degrees off and stable.I took off at KLAS going to KSAN and it was fine at Las Vegas but inflight to San Diego it started shifting and then froze at 70 degrees off. FS navigator indicated my course was correct at 230 degrees but the instruments were reading 340 degrees...Go figure!
July 8, 200421 yr Hi, do you have any landclass, AFCAD or mesh files installed for that area? One of the three was responsible for it, if I just could remember which one.
July 8, 200421 yr I think I remember AFCAD files in FS2002 that are ment for FS2004 does this to your system. Check your scenery folders for AFCAD2 files. I think they start with AF2*.bgl right?Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
July 8, 200421 yr Thank you very much, Mats, for sharing the solution. I had exactly the same problem, but it is now gone after I got rid of the AF2*.bgl files.
July 9, 200421 yr It didnt help me. I got rid of the AF2*.bgls I could find, restored the AFCADS and kiled the mesh but I'm still getting a compass heading of due south on runway 8R in Honolulu. Still reading off in Calif too. Oregon and Washington State are ok though.... Go Figure!Seems to be happening in the lower west and Hawaii.Any other ideas?ThanksJim
July 9, 200421 yr Author Rename fs2002.cfg to fs2002.OLD. Restart fs2002, let it stabilize, and see if the problem is corrected. If so, delete fs2002.OLD. If not, delete the new fs2002.cfg, rename fs2002.OLD to fs2002.cfg.If the above corrects your problem, you may be using a saved default flight that has errors. If the above doesn't correct your problem, run AFCAD140.zip, select File, Scan BGLS files for problems... to see if it detects any problem files.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
