TELL ME IM CRAZY

People I am a huge flight enthusiast and a flight simulator one to I fly online on vatsim and have test ivao but they have less people on but that

>great but I want something newReally dumb idea. Sorry. The more competing flying online organizations the fewer operations per such organization, the less appealing online flying will be. In this case the strength is in unity not in diversity.BY the way, you posted in the wrong forum. ya your right it was a crazy thought but what ever and i am 15 anyone feal free to post more comments on this topic but i have to say it was a spur of the moment thought that i now think is REAL CRAZY.

OK, you're 15. That officially excuses you from having crazy ideas for another few years (until you're old enough to vote that is ;) ).Setting up and running an organisation like vatsim is a massive undertaking requiring many people with high skill levels and quite a bit of money.I doubt you have any of that...Plus as already said more competition means less people for each of the networks, making your stated problem with them even bigger. Also keep in mind that most every such network that is set up (and there are several each year!) doesn't survive for more than a few months (and most never even make it past the press release about them going to start up "soon").

On the flip side, if you develop a way that makes it easier to join and connect, then you may have a winner. Sometimes in life, we plow behind the same old tired horse, because there isn't any other horse to hook our plow to.Tim13

I don't have any experience with IVAO, but on VATSIM you start FS, start SB3 or FSInn, click on Connect and you're connected. How much easier can it get?Miltos

well alot of people i know have a problem with fsinn because they dont under stand all the features and how to set the settings squwak box on the other hand is very user friendly so thats why people tend to use it and the truth is fsinn is the better software. in my opinion

People have problems connecting, but I wouldn't say it's because of all the features. People may say anything to explain having problems. But the real answer is, they just have problems. I believe removing all the features would be more problematic when people would try to install so many addons to give the experience features. They have problems with their computer, network, Firewall and just about everything else you can imagine and blame it on their client software. People have problems with Microsoft Word which has lots of features. When if they don't want to use the features, all they have to do is load it write their letter, then print the letter. If they wanted a feature to do mail-merge or fancy formatting all they have to do is concentrate on one feature at a time and take the time to learn it. This goes for any program on the computer. I hope they don't remove the many features from FS9 just to make it easier. I would never use all the features. But I'm glad they are there for the times when I feel like exploring. I agree with the author that posted how much easier could it get to connect. I don't believe it could get easier. However, the people could become more familiar with their computers and computer environments. By the way, rather than starting a new huge network, you might consider starting your own little club that might grow to something bigger according to the participation. You could start a VA or flight club. The key is doing what you like to do and being satisfied with something small. Most of the best singers started singing because they liked it. They song for and with their friend in very small crowds (from 0 people listening to a few friends and/or family members). With their experience in doing what they liked doing, they eventually made it big. Of course less than 1 in a thousand might make it big, so the key is they have to be doing what they like to do, otherwise they might be one of the 999 that continues to be frustrated. Personally, I don't believe that lots of little places to fly really take away from VATSIM. I believe lots of little places to fly gives lots of people the opportunity to hear about all the potential for having fun and enjoying the hobby, that will give the major servers more potential for people to take the plunge. If they didn't have a small group of friends of club to test the waters, they might never get the confidence to dive into the ocean. -- L. James-------------------L. D. [email protected]/~ljames

Another idea is to raise your involvement within the VATSIM community. Why not get yourself into controlling? See the experience from the other side.Regards,Chan
