I'm sure there is a place to file a grievance on the Vatsim site but I never have had to, until now. I'm not even sure if what occured was real or a glitch so I am hping someone from Vatsim could look into it for me. It Occured tonight I was logged in as AAL917 on a flight from KOKC to KONT I was about 2 hours into the route on J78 between VOR's SJN and PKE at FL330 Time was right around 1800Z.I noticed an aircraft behind me from the spot view in this case it was represented by the default F18 in blue angle livery. I thought maybe someone was practicing an intercept or something until they decided to ram me which caused an object collision and the loss of my flight. Is there anyway someone from Vatsim could look into this?If this indeed was an intentional event I would sure hate to see it being repeated. I can only imagine the anger it would cause to someone who has been on a much longer route! Robert Thomason

Hi Robert-Not sure about being able to verify who might have caused your unfortunate and frustrating incident, you may wish to post at the VATSIM General Discussion site: http://forums.vatsim.net/viewforum.php?f=6...8c97d95519a7248I have heard of people shadowing other aircraft but have not heard of anyone ramming anothers' aircraft and that kind of act should warrant an immediate expulsion from VATSIM. You should go to your settings in FS9 or FSX and disable crash detection, it may not remedy someone shadowing you but at least they cannot cause a crash and end your flight. Better luck next time.

Are you absolutely sure that this wasn't one of the "ghost image" problems that occasionably crops up on Vatsim? For obscure reasons to do with networking, your OWN plane is sometimes duplicated using a different model/livery - and it bounces around trying to catch up with you. I have a feeling it's something to do with PnP - but it usually goes away if you restart the PC.For this and other reasons (eg, other people coming online to the same gate you're parked at and squashing you quite by accident) it's best to fly online with all crash detection options turned off.Tim
