April 12, 200224 yr Hello everyone,I have been surfing the internet in regards to the EPIC card and how much everyone seems to use it.There is another product out there that does a very similar job from what I can tell and comparable price. An advantage that it seems to have is that you get a 747 MCP as well.WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK ABOUT THIS PRODUCT IN RELATION TO THE EPIC?Just a quick discussion!:-)AV8TR
April 12, 200224 yr Hi There,If you are very handy and have a good knowledge of electronics, then the EPIC solution will work for you. You would then need to make your own panel, complete with switches, knobs, etc. and interface that to the EPIC.The 747-MCP by Aerosoft is the next step up as they give you electronic programmability and the panel with switches and knobs. There are some shortcomings with this 747-MCP... the realism leaves a bit to be desired, given the membrane pushbuttons and the toggle for the AP disconnect and additionally, their panel doesn't light up.Also, you still need to know some electronics to use the extra features they offer for other switches...and then still have to make your own panels etc for those other features. There will be another option....which I am getting ahead of the announcement....and that is a super realistic MCP that is virtually plug and play...has realistic pushbuttons, AP disconnect and also has a realistic lightpanel for light up features. Included will also be the EICAS panel which is located to the right of the MCP.This product will also connect to 2 EFIS panels to be offered shortly after the MCP announcement. The price of the soon to be offered MCP/EICAS product will be slightly less than the 747-MCP.Hope this doesn't confuse you...and sorry, I can't give any more info on that last product as it is still in the works...but our company...Daken-Skys...is the developer which is how I know of it.Best regards,Ken Weiland
April 13, 200224 yr Hi Dave,We're not quite ready with the web site yet....but as soon as we have it ready, we will be posting info on Avsim, along with a press release. Our products will be all encompassing covering as many panels as we can make. Our plans also are to include many different planes...such as the 747 to start, the 777, 737, 767 etc. and the Airbus models. We are also working on full floor mounted controls to include super realistic yokes, pedals and throttles with autothrottle control.Just a few of the many areas we are involved in.Thanks for the interest....Ken WeilandDaken-Skys
April 13, 200224 yr Hi Ken, Thanks for the reply Wow! sounds great I can't wait to see your products.:-jumpy Dave.
June 26, 200223 yr Does anybody have experience with the MCP from Command Flightware? It has backlight and some other features. But I do not know if it is better or worse than the MCP from Aerosoft Australia.By the way: I use to fly PSS 747 aircrafts. For reference:Command Flightware: http://www.commandfliteware.com/mcp.htmlAerosoft Australia: http://www.mcp747.com/Regards, Ferry
June 26, 200223 yr Not sure I think Command Lightware International MCP is kinda expensive not sure though!!Regards
June 27, 200223 yr Command Fliteware International Ltd is the correct name.http://www.commandfliteware.comOur products are sought after for their accuracy and are intended primarily for professional installation. When comparing to other professional products they are not expensive. We utilise advanced technology to achieve concepts and accuracy of replication. You simply get what you pay for ---. You have to take into account the extra time and expense that may be needed to interface and complete any panel/s you purchase. The cheapest panel available on the internet is not always the most economical solution in the end run.We have to keep the interfaces of our equipment as open ended as possible for the simple reason we are required to provide interfaces to a variety of professional simulations. Any dedicated plug and play capability to one simualation simply restricts the market of one's product. However we do assist home cockpit builders and flight simulation enthusiasts to a very large degree with interfacing. We have some very simple solutions. And our customers are delighted with their end result. Matt Sheil's superb sim at http://www.hyway.com.au/747/747.html is a good example of our products in use (MCP/Eicas/Efis & MCDU's & more to come). Real world pilots that have flown Matt's sim were very impressed. Our components are designed with input from ex-simulation instructors (on our staff), ex-simulation engineers and real world pilots. They are specifically designed to withstand the rigors that flight simulation products demand. We currently offer for home cockpit builders and flight simulation enthusiasts a plug and play option with our MCDU keypads. We do all the mounting, assembly to an adapted KE24 Hagstrom board and preload it with the software to match your sim. We retail this offer through the following link:http://em.ca/~cockpits/regardsGraeme RodgersDirector,Command Fliteware International Ltd
June 27, 200223 yr Not at all Robert, - my intention of the message was to post the aims and direction of our products. Yes we agree that a full and complete MCP for example can be expensive to most home cockpit builders and flight simulation users. However that should not discourage them not to seek advice or answers from us (as many currently do) to obtain the best for their dollar.Graeme RodgersCommand Fliteware International Ltd
June 28, 200223 yr Graeme,Thanks for your initiative to respond. I will contact you soon about the interfacing functionalities.Regards, Ferry
June 28, 200223 yr I seem to recall reading almost the exact same advertisement/spam form you a few month's ago. Since then nothing but resounding silence. Either S... or get off the pot! If your product is so great and so close to being finished you must be able to provide more info. Or are you finding it difficult making up a website about hot air? Aerosoft had a website with ton's of info month's in advance of their initial release. However, if half of what you claim is true I'll be one of your first customers! :-)Regards, Andreas
