September 5, 200322 yr Hi All, I am just about to venture into the world of building parts to hook up to the FS. I have decided to start with a throttle because that is at the moment what I feel is nice trade-off between skills required and added simulation. I have tried to search the forum but those skills leave much to be desired.... I am looking for dimensions and other stuff that could help me make a B737 (preferable NG) throttle. I saw on some site that I can't remember now someone who had made an auto-throttle (i.e. one that moved in response to the autopilot feedback). Is that extremely difficult to make? Can the parts from a force feedback joystick be used to do this? So many questions, so much to learn...B. Lev
September 5, 200322 yr Hi and welcome BoazTO have a thottle with feedback you need to have some kind of servo motors on the levers, positioning motors. Also should be a friction device to be able to manually "Override" the servo motor output. It is quite a bit more complicated than using a force feedback stick I'm afraid. And then we have the reverser levers and their logic. :-)It's a challenge! If you would like some of my CAD-drawings just drop me a note.Regards,PS. I got your mail. Haven't had time to repy yet. September 5, 200322 yr Hi Mats,I would like a copy of your CAD-drawings for the 737 Throttle. My e-mail is: [email protected], Firmo
September 6, 200322 yr Hi,i'm looking also for your CAD files, please send me an email in [email protected] ArmaosAthens - Greece
September 6, 200322 yr >Hi,>>i'm looking also for your CAD files, please send me an email>in [email protected]>Uh, just post here, I bet half the forum would be interested to see those :-)/Tuomas
September 6, 200322 yr You're rightHere you have my work as per 6th Sept 203. Please share any modifications with the rest of us! That's all I ask from you!Unfortunately the main file is too big to be uploaded here. So please mail me if you want it...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/35355.jpgRegards Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
September 7, 200322 yr Hello people,That is great . But could someone inform the measure of the throlttle.I intend to build one here, but I dont know the right size of itThank you a lotCongratulationMONTA
September 23, 200322 yr Hmm, no luck viewing the cad drawings...Tried a viewer software, but it didn't show anything.... autocad is too expensive...Any ideas?/Olle
September 23, 200322 yr Olle,Check this free viewer, Volo View Express from AutoDesk:http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index...23112&id=837403You can have the files in DXF as well if that would suite you better? September 27, 200322 yr Some CAD programs:QCad which is free 2D CAD, for Linux and Windows. A bit hard to figure out at first since it has a quite interesting UI, but it is not too bad.www.qcad.comPRO/Desktop Express is a "Lite" version of a real, beefed-up engineering CAD tool called PRO/Engineer. My friend Jari stumbled upon it one day and he liked it quite a bit - did the landing gear handle stuff with it if someone rememebers his pics. Worth checking out.http://www.ptc.com/community/free_downloads.htmMike, that might be a good addition to your list?Tuomas
