October 16, 200322 yr Hello all,A few days ago I was testing my FSBus cards to interact with Project Magenta MCP at a friend's house, but we got strange results. The rotaries didn't cause the effect they're supposed to in the MCP's HDG and/or ALT digit windows. Not even by using the virtual rotaries in the FSBus software.Anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance.P.S. Does anyone have abrief explanation on how to use the FSClient, FSFinder, etc features of FSBUS? what is that for?
October 16, 200322 yr Hello PM users,i am sorry, i haven't tested PM with the first beta which is currently the last official release of fsbus. This is in progress and i promise, it will come soon.kind regards Dirk
October 16, 200322 yr HiI am using FSBus beta 2 for couple of weeks already with PM with following functions (Boeing 777): EFIS all functions except BARO and MCP with displays, rotaries and butons. My configuration file is attached. Great software and design by the way. I got cards from Cadum (Brazil).Leon
October 17, 200322 yr Hello Leon,I only got the last two out of the three attached files you sent. I understand that the second one is the FSBUS config file, and ythe third one is for FSUIPC, but What is the first one for?Thanks.Rafa.
October 17, 200322 yr So, what is the secong file for? The one where you say it's a FSUIPC Ini.I have checked my FSUIPC ini, and the structure is different. We have tested it and it seems like the Magenta MCP doesn't do what I tell it to do through FSBUS while using your config file. What do I have to do with the second file?
October 17, 200322 yr HiThe second file is most important file, it is my saved definition from fsbus 2. It supposed to be with fb2 extension (test.fb2).Hope it helps.Leon
October 20, 200322 yr Hey Leon,I mean, what do I do with the third attachment, the second file, the one that strats with # Ini file for fsuipc values# Lvl, Name ID Mode Offset Type Opt flags scan mul div#----------------------------------------------------------------------0, "Standard"......What do I do with that one? Cause was trying your config file, and the rotaries don't make Project Magenta MCP's rotaries work. For instance, If I play with the altitude rotary, the ALT value only goes to the values 100 and 50000.How do you make it work?
October 20, 200322 yr HiThe ALT rotary supposed to rotate from 100 to 50000...You cannot directly use my definition file because it is mapped to my CIDs and SIDs. But you can look for the corresponding mappings in the PM tree.Leon
October 22, 200322 yr I know, we didn't have anything plugged into the FSBUS boards. Just testing software configs, and using the little rotary simulators up on top of the FSBUS window, the values only were 100 and 50000; nothing in between. The mapping here is not an issue, since we didn't have anything plugged in.So when you use it, you van make it go from 100 to 50000??? Using a rotary???Man, I must be doing something wrong.
October 22, 200322 yr HiNow i got your point...What actually happens, that in your case altitude value changes from -1 (translated to maximum 50000) to +1 (translated to minimum 100).You need to make sure that in your config file (fsif.ini) in the PM Altitude Set row ("Altitude Set", 244, 0, 0x540a, I16, 0,W+, 10,1,1,) written W+ (meaning incremental update of the altitude) and not just W (meaning discrite (-1,1)).Leon
October 23, 200322 yr Hi Leon, thank you very much for your efforts trying to explain us how tu use PM software and FSBUS.I must admit that i am having exactly the same problems as Romeo.I will change the settings for ALT this evening - BUT - with all the other displays i have the SAME problem - no matter if HDG, VS, speed or what else - they simply jump between 0 and xxxWhat is there to do ???Is it the same reason ??? Simply W+ ???Thanks a lotMathias
October 23, 200322 yr Mathias, are you using Fs2004 with Fsbus and PM, or Fs2002?Do have it as a rotary2 ?Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
October 23, 200322 yr Hello Leon,So finally I made myself understood... ;-)I'll check that as soon as I can, and I0ll let you guys know how it goes.Is the updating of the value acceptable? I mean, can you turn the rotary quick and obtain desirable results?R.
October 23, 200322 yr HiGlad to help.I found in the fsbus.de site that in a few days will be available new beta 2 software. Leon
