A proposal for a new exclusive FsBus Yahoogroup

Please don't move the FsBus topic! In my system I use EPIC, but I read the FsBus topics to learn from others ideas, mistakes and how problems are solved. This is all part of the Cockpit Building scheme and should be kept together.Forming an "FsBus club" or any other topic elsewhere weakens the whole cockpit building community. We need to stay together and accumulate knowledge in one place and not scatter it throughout cyberspace, searching endlessly to find sub topics of our fabulous hobby.

>Wow, thats the essential difference eh? Your sadly mistaken.>Nothing against the other thing but it in no way compares to>the Epic.>See thats my point exactly..."Nothing against the other thing", well that shows quite nice by the arrogant words :-)I wasn't comparing the two on what they can, merely on what they are.But again the FSBUS is "degraded" by some EPIC users. This is not the issue here. And to quote Eddie:<4) When the s/w is payware, the company had the responsibility to have support for customers (like PMDG, PM etc). Now as the program is freeware and we can't ask for online support from Dirk>Please understand the point I'm trying to make. Nobody here are comparing the EPIC to FSBUS or vise versa, the point is that EPIC is a commercial product, FSBUS is NOT. I dont understand why I even have to explain this...?If you use EPIC and like that, cool. But don't slam FSBUS just because you don't like it or know what it does. ;-)Best regardsPeterBTW this topic is getting off track.....

After reading all the replies I vote to keep it here. It's just too much trouble to try keeping up with additional forums. Everything seems to work well here although, I'm new. Many thanks to all who make this place possible.Danny

Eddie,I don't doubt your good intentions!I am not a user of FSBUS and I don't consider it (at the moment). I follow however the discussions, because once in a while I read something I can use as well. Splitting up would prevent this, because there aren't only that many forums I can follow. So please, let us keep the info concentrated. Reading something good about a system I don't use doesn't harm me.Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg

Peter Skotte Please don't be confused...between me (Arthur Prather) and Robert Prather. We happen to have same last name with same type of hobbies, eventually we lives in same State. But the only difference is, he flies B777 and I fly B767, He uses KE-72 (Robert if you read this correct me if I am mistaken) and I uses EPIC USB, He creates ProMFD, and I Create FSStation (not yet distributed). Question here is, are we actually in same family tree? don't know yet! Anyway, regarding to your statement:>I think Dirk has more than enough to do with writing the FSBUS code, >so asking him to set up a forum for FSBUS would'nt be fair. And this >forum is perfectly good for that. We all have to be here, and there >is plenty of space, if one do not have an interest in FSBUS, then >just skip the posts...it's not like it takes up space from other >topics.I understand Dirk did his hard work assemblying the circuit and wites codes for FSBUS. But generally, this forum bring up discussion sharing the work on their cockpits. I don't mind if anyone would bring discussion about type of interface using where to find the parts/components or what type of webpage to find information on FSBUS... But when it's come with issue on bug problems, it slow down the other cockpit builder who waits for replies on non-fsbus related issue just because everyone is concerating on answering question on FS-BUS issues. That's kind of unfair to others (non-fubus users)>I dont see anyware that this forum is for sharing ideas only???>As the title states it's a "Home Cockpit Builders -> The Home >Cockpit Support Forum"Yes, you re right... It applies to everyone...Meaning, not always a issue on FSBUS Bugs.. It goes for everything. But since lately, from what I see on this forum EVERYDAY bringing up issues about bug problem on FSBUS, or even the repeated questions. Likewise title states "Home Cockpit Builder-> The Home cockpit support forum" has turn into "Home Cockpit Builder-> FSBUS Bug Error Solution Forum">So can we plz. stop this discussion about splitting everyhting up, >and keep this nice pool of knowledge in one place. >Read the topics that are of interest to you, and skip those who >aren't.I m not here trying to split everything up, I am here trying to organzie the discussion. How can non-fsbus user feel involved in home cockpit community if there is always hot discusson going on on FSBUS related? Believe me, if you re non-EPIC user, you would feel same way as I feel if anyone bring hot discussion on this forum.Peter, Nothing personal here... I am not here trying to start any battle against FSBUS users, I just would like to share the feelings with you. Maybe hopefully someday there will be several specific group disucssion on any issues that everyone is inquiring about.

I would also vote to keep it together as splitting the group means dispersing the energy and momentum of the group. As many people mentioned, we are a small community and we need all the energy we can get to keep such forums going. It's true that there are some very FSBUS specific posts, but then ultimately it's a reflection of the currently popular trend in home cockpits. It may well be that tomorrow a new product comes by that will be the most popular trend and consequently the hot discussion. If today we help new members with FSBUS on the forum, we actually contribute to adding members to our small group and ultimately to our strength - which is our collective experience.Of all the various forums that I joined on this subject, this is the only one really alive currently, and let's strive to keep it that way. I have learnt most of what I know in HC bulding from this forum, and I check each and every post every day. I would like to contribute back to this community in the future, and the best way to focus my energy is to keep it all together in one place.Cheers,Rahul.New Delhi, India.
