March 30, 200521 yr Addendum. In the instructions a file is mentioned:PortIO.dll. Is it for older versions ?It's not in the latest package.Hessel
March 31, 200521 yr Seems that my pictures are not going well.Hereunder the text of the first error messsage:"An unhandled exeption has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will stop immediately. The currncy separator information specified in the NumberFormatInfo is ambiguous for passing."Hessel
April 1, 200521 yr PortIO.dll is always needed! This is what allows LPT-switch.exe to talk to the LPT port. VB.Net has not much low level access to ports etc, that's why I use a dll. Also make sure that you got the ini file for the key output in the same folder as the exe I think. This is all so long ago that I was working on this so it's "vaag" ;).
April 1, 200521 yr Must have something to do with my program wanting to read data from an ini file which is not (yet) there. I tried to get that bug out as much as possible but you seem to have found a way to get to that situation anyway.
April 2, 200521 yr Hi Philippe,Thanks for the help. What seems to be the best strategy now ?Zou ik je even mogen bellen, dat gaat makkelijker/sneller denk ik.HesselMail adres:Takeoff (en hier komt het ape-staartje) chello.nl
April 2, 200521 yr Philippe,Probably good news, I hope ....Just tried to explain the problem to my son and when explaining a problem you sometimes see whats the solution (I hope again...).I soldered the not working A channel (A1 - A8) which was not working on both (!) switches on a pin beside the right on. That's of course the reason for one row not working.I now have hope that that also clears the other problem of not working on some pc's !Let you know.Hessel
April 2, 200521 yr Continuing story ...After resoldering the wrong pin now ALL rows and colums of the matrix (5 x 8) are working on the **laptop ** previously mentioned.Still not on the flying PC.So I think the hardware is OK now ?The lpt-reload.ini in the local directory gives:// Payload Editor Configuration File00100So that seems OK too ?The lptoutput.ini gives:SaPbScPdPePfPgShPiSjPk etc. etc. etc.So that seems OK too ?The error messages after pressing the LPT1 tab do continue..Netframework 1.1 and service pack installed.port95nt.exe is executed.inpout32.dll is in the windows/system32 directory. Regsvr32.exe says that that file is loaded. I tried to register it seperately (hoping that should help) but regsvr32 says that that was not possible (not important I presume). The LPTSwitch version 1 without the .net framework does also NOT run.De parallel port is standard, bidirectional and on "0378-037F". So that is different form your docs in which it is "0378-0378A". So A in stead of F. Seems not important because in the working laptop its also "F" and in the docs its stated that in the reload version 2 this is not of importance. Are we coming further ?Till so far,Hessel
April 2, 200521 yr I should check the code again to see what's going on. It seems there's some bug triggered when hitting the LPT1 tab.
April 2, 200521 yr Great, thanks.Standing by ....Still angry that it is me ???? (this is what all computer users always think; I thought it sometime ago for about a half year till is was clear that is was a defect motherboard....)Hessel
April 2, 200521 yr "The lptoutput.ini gives:"sure it is "LPToutput.ini" ?If so, rename it to "LPT1output.ini"
April 2, 200521 yr Copied this files from the map on the working laptop to the flying pc and alsoo to another pc:LPT1output.iniLPT2output.iniLPT3output.iniLPT-reload.iniLPTreload.exe_v2.exeLPTswitch.icoAlso no results. Do you miss files ?Hessel
