August 16, 200619 yr Just install a 19" widescreen in my cockpit as retrofit. Honestly, it is NOT a good monitor due to its low contrast ratio. It cannot display true "black" color. However, its size is the best fit to my console space when I compare the other models.I disassembly the case and cut up some metal from the console last night. Still have some work to do for a perfect fit (hopefully!)Hope there will be new and high contrast version of 19" widescreen in future. I am afraid the screen size standard will be getting higher and higher. As we see all 15" monitor are phased out and soon to be the 17".Enclose some test shots here.www.alkit.nethttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154226.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154227.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154228.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154229.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154230.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154232.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154233.jpg
August 17, 200619 yr I know what you mean about fewer and fewer small monitors. It took me a year to find a 12" monitor that would work for my project.Good luck with your project.John JohnMy first SIM was a Link Trainer. My last was a T-6 IIAMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D@ 5.1 GHz, 32 GB DDR5 RAM - 3 M2 Drives. 1 TB Boot, 2 TB Sim drive, 2 TB Add-on Drive, 6TB Backup data hard driveRTX 3080 10GB VRAM, Meta Quest 3 VR Headset
August 18, 200619 yr 12" is the "rare" range of choiceif u can accept the smaller 10" or the bigger 15", this would be much easy for you to get. I believe the 12" is your "perfect fit".I am thinking whether to find a small screen (8 to 10") to fill the small console hole (behind the throttle). As the current EICAS can display pretty much of essential flight information.www.alkit.net
August 19, 200619 yr Am I dreaming or are you actually using FSX?Judging by the gauges you are (CRJ glass and Garmin G1000, and some WX radar app)...Are you a beta tester by any lucky chance?
August 20, 200619 yr >i think its the reality XP set of gaugesRXP does not have a G1000 afaik, but that one looks like the Project Magenta G1000.//T
August 21, 200619 yr No, the G1000 screen has nothing about FSX. Its a simulator from Garmin. Check out its online store. It cost few bucks only. It flies with joystick. I hope the FSX will provide similar quality and functionality like that.I "guess" soon or later, company like RXP will operate with Garmin again and make that work with FS.www.alkit.net
