757 Delta old colors

Recommended Posts

Hee hee :) Ok heres a little story. About 4 years ago I got to fly a 757 on its first revenue flight from the factory. Man you should have seen her! The belly and metal surfaces on the engines were like mirrors, it even smelled like a new car. I was so proud! There wasn't even any dirt on the landing gear (thats for Mike:) ) It was ship number 669, I recall it very well, and we took her down to Sarasota FL and back one fine sunny afternoon. I think I saw this airframe less than 6 months later, and already that shiny surface had turned to a dull aluminum sheen, still reflective at the right angles but just not like when it was new. Im one of those guys that likes the textures on the HJG(Historic Jetliners Group) aircraft(707's & DC-8's) and think its more realistic looking, but I like some of these super shiny chrome terminator robot type paint jobs too every now and then :) Go ahead and give it your treatment Garry! I'd be interested in how it turns out:)hornit

Hi Hornet,Send me the link to the download URL and I will shine her up a titch and send her back to you for your release - she is your hard work and texture for this bird - the shiny bit will be just a tinker for me and give me a chance to repay you for your nice words on my forum posts.Regards Garry J. Hey Hornit!Magnificent job on that repaint! Thanks a million for that my friend! Hey! You should try the new colors now (the lipstick livery).Your Delta OC repaint is one of the best I have seen and probably the sharpest, so far, for Mike's fabulous 757 series. My 2 cents!Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert

Hi Hornit,Well I have now done a tinker with your excellent 757 Delta livery - It is available at http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/b757.htmhttp://www.gjsmith.com/images/b757-delta-3.jpgI still class this texture as totally yours and have tried to make it very clear on the B757 page that all I did was tinker with your creation. Thanks for the opportunity to add a touch of reflection to your hard efforts. You are welcome to use this release in anyway that you see fit for your own gain as my work is only a tinker with the basics you created.Happy SimmingGarry J. Oustanding Hornit and Garry both. Looks great! But considering the fact that it didn't get 2000-3000 hours of work by a group of experts, I'd have to say its an unfinished attempt.:-lol :-lol :-lol :-lol :-lol Mike Stone

OH - I spend at least that much time just thinking about what I am goint to paint (I think that's called Planning :-lol) - and then I do the artwork (development :-lol) - and then hours and hours and hours on the net publishing my stuff (implementation :-lol)Well - anyway - Im off to do another bit of unfinished work - and lots of them.......Thanks for the complement Mike - enjoy not being an EXPERT - X = old, has been and spurt = drip under pressure - May be old but never under pressure.....Happy SimmingGarry J. Lets form a web site and call it UNFINISHED BUSINESS - We could put our stuff there and have "under construction" banners all over it. Or the Flightsim Unprofessional Creations Kindergarden Under Probation Society - for us "young" amatures - that was fun creating the title but we could never use the first letter of each word for an abreviation for our site. (ooops) sorry.Working (sorry - making an incomplete attempt at a paint job) on an El Al livery for your B757 at the moment. Not exciting as there is little scope for reflections but I will tinker a bit and do something unique with this one I think. (oops is that artistic licience - damn must stop doing that).
