May 24, 200521 yr Hi all,I used to be at EagleExpress that allowed us to fly anywhere with any payware plane. Unfortunatly, it closed down and I was wondering if there are still such VA's.The reason is that I like to fly whereever I feel like and, when flying online, my flights depend on which airports are controlled. I know this goes against the VA philosophy but it may exist. Thanks in advance for your advice,Happy flying,Olivier
May 24, 200521 yr hey hows it going? i too came from eagleexpress, man i missed iti went to cyber air http://www.cyber-air.org/they fly a lot of the same payware a/c we used to, flight 1, ATR, the pmdg 737 and the dreamfleet 727. one thing you probably wont like is its a lot more structured and you have to bid for your flights, etc. that why i like it, its a little more structured than eex wasanother one you might like isairsource found here: http://www.air-source.us/default.aspthey allow you to pick a flight and go, so you can choose a flight that has an a/c listed that you have as paywarealso this is a nice looking startup that uses the atr and the pmdg b1900dhttp://www.desertsunairlines.org/index.phpi have to say they have a very nice paint job on there planeshope you find "work"ciao!Brian S Ciao!
May 25, 200521 yr Hi guys,I used to be with Eagle Express too. My ID was EEX019.I'm now flying with VPA, they allow you to fly any real route and real schedule for any real airline. I really think that you should look at them.Try this ; http://www.virtualpilots.org/Bill T.
May 27, 200521 yr HI Guys...Can I suggest Solent Airlines....at WWW.SOLENTAIRLINES.CO.UKWe adopt a very free and easy policy with pilots. We have flights out of all the major airports, we dont do Heathrow, the landing fee's are too high :). But we do fly from City,Manchester,Southampton, Bournemouth and have just opened up flights out of Aberdeen. We also have hubs and flights in USA, Singapore and Australia. We fly all sorts of planes and have our own paintshop with solent fleet designs.Have a look and see if you like it then drop me an e-mail.Cheers.Andy
May 27, 200521 yr Well, if you guys allow me to suggest another one, I think you might be interested in our group, the United Nations & Red Cross Virtual. One of the main ideas is to help generate awareness about the real humanitarian issues world wide by replicating the real Humanitarian Operations and Peacekeeping Missions, this way adding a message to our hobby.Of course we are always trying to be as realistic as possible, every mission and operation is thoroughly researched (really!) to not only suggest flights as they really happened (and happen), but also the aircraft used and the real destinations. We have in our fleet most of the real aircraft used by the UN and RC painted in their colour following the real scheme, but we also have a few fictitious ones, like the PMDG and Level-D 767 in UN livery. Since the real organizations charter and lease aircraft from other companies you may also choose any other aircraft you like the most and fly the missions with it.Since creating awareness is one of our main goals we choose not to adopt any bidding system or schedule a pilot has to fly every month. There is not even a minimum amount of hours to fly, it is all up to you. There are no ranks, no restrictions on aircraft type or the like. It is basically up to you to choose how real you want to simulate the operations. We give you the tools to fly 'as real as it gets' if you want to. This format was chosen mainly to allow pilots from other VAs to fly our missions and count the hours for their VAs, we decided to let the whole website content open to allow partnerships with other VAs. Many pilots register with us just to have the UNO callsign and fly/log for their VAs.If you do not fly for another VA and want to log your hours with us, fine, you may use the manual PIREP form, the freeware FSACARS and even the payware FS Flight Keeper. Our website is always expanding and we will in the near future also have a training area that will complement our existing tutorials. UN/RC Virtual is a registered VA with Vatsim and a Special Operations Group with IVAO, so you may fly online using our callsign as well as offline.Come visit us, you are most welcome. :-)___________________Marcelo M
May 27, 200521 yr Olivier,I must put a second vote in for the Virtual Pilots Association (VPA). I *RUN* my own virtual airline, and yet I still think they (VPA) have a great system set up. In fact, I fly for both my own VA and the VPA. You can fly literally any fixed-wing airplane to literally any officially designated airfield in the world. You can fly on your own schedules, picking and choosing your destinations, or you can fly a real-world airline scheduled flight. You can even fly another VA's scheduled flights with them. They have a very unique flight rewards system. It's not based on hours, but "wings" which you accumulate with your flights. Certain flights and milestones get you different wing values. Online flying is rewarded. I've found the VPA management and pilots to all be quite friendly and available. Their website is, for lack of a better term, *professionally* polished and nice. http://www.virtualpilots.orgIt sounds as though VPA is exactly what you are looking for. -Greg http://www.virtualusa.org (My VA) http://www.virtualpilots.org (The VPA!)
