This is the screenshot forum, please note that the use of profanity, inappropriate images, arguing, fighting and generally being disrepectful to other users will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If you disrespect the wishes of Avsim, you will not be welcome in the forums any longer. Please limit your images to those that are sim related or real aviation. Do NOT upload images of other, random, non-sim related games. While we have provided a bit of latitude on this subject, please do not abuse this and keep the images on-topic. Those posting inappropriate images will simply have your posts removed. Coming into this forum and losing your temper and showing general disrespect for your fellow users will lead to your posts being removed and you asked to leave. This forum is one of the most popular at Avsim, and it is the users that participate with respect for other users and wishes that make it this way. This forum, as a whole, has no problems. Commercial Vendors: Please note that screenshot posts from commercial vendors with images of their payware product are NOT allowed. We consider any developers, beta team members, etc. part of the development team. Therefore, there shouldn't be any images of products not released yet. When the product is released, regular users of that product can post all the images they want. Your co-operation on this matter is appreciated. All commercial vendors should e-mail [email protected] if you would like your product previewed. Image Size:Images either uploaded to the server or linked to on a third party must not be any wider than 800 pixels, and no higher than 600 pixels. We ask this because:1) HUGE amounts of bandwidth are consumed by large images.2) Load times for dial-up users are greatly increased.3) Some users on lower screen resolutions may have to scroll to the right to see your entire image.Number of Images:There must be NO MORE than 5 screenshots uploaded to any one forum topic. We ask this because:1) HUGE amounts of bandwidth are consumed by more images.2) Load times for dial-up users are greatly increased. Please be respectful to your fellow forum users and post quality screenshots over quantity. This means simply, do not flood the forum with multiple topics just so you can still upload more than 5 images at a time. The 5 uploaded images should be in the initial post and no images in any follow-up replies, even from the initial poster. In other words, no more part one, two, etc. Just remember the intended spirit of this forum is for everyone to get the chance to share some of their favorite screenshots, not just flood the forum with posts from a select group of individuals. If we find that users cannot post in the intended spirit of the forum, you can expect stricter guidelines. Let's not push it to that point as we want the forum to remain fun and interesting for ALL users. Posting Guidelines: Please do enjoy this screenshot forum and put it to maximum use, there is nothing quite like showing off screenshots of your favorite add-on, aircraft, scenery or utility to get the attention of other users but more importantly attracting other users who are thinking about getting into flight simulation. DO NOT post purely text messages to start a new topic. The only all-text messages should be followup replies to an initial post or posts from the Forum Moderators and Administrators. DO NOT link directly to images on other websites - you run the risk of violating both their EULA and copyright and also succeed in making them very unhappy. Link only to images uploaded to AVSIM or on your OWN webspace. DO NOT upload images larger than 125Kb, if you cannot manage shots under this total, you need to stop flying in those heavily populated areas and find yourself some empty sky! Do NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES link to images stored at the AVSIM Screen Shots forum from external websites elsewhere. It is unfair and not too cool to have us pay for bandwidth in order to fill someone else's website. Off-topic posting Please be warned that ANY of the following will almost certainly get your post deleted:

While I have used Rob's previous message as a foundation, there were quite a few changes made so everyone needs to make sure they give it a good read again. Some change highlights are allowing images to be up to 800 pixels wide. I realize this isn't much difference but it does change it to a more common width. However, we will still do our best to accomodate our users viewing at the lower resolutions and an 800 pixel width is a good compromise for now.Now more than 5 uploaded images in any one topic, period. In other words, no more followup replies with more images. This will keep the amount of images in any one thread to a minimum. The rest of the changes were mainly wording that may have made the original intention unclear. One of which is making it clear that images from other sims are welcome. This forum is not just for sharing flightsim images especially since we host other non-flightsim forums.Just make sure you read and understand the new policies as everyone that posts to this forum acknowledge that they agree and will abide to the policies.

is that ok if i post one screenshot and post a link where the others can find the rest of the screenshots on an html page?edit: another good idea-> 4 small screenshots as one big screenie, like here: http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=37012&page=

"I love walking in the rain cause no one can see my crying"

"Those who enter the field for the sole purpose of impressing others with their aeronautical knowledge can never be true aviators."

Yes, both of those ideas are fine especially the second one. If you've ever paid attention to "Bear's" posts, he usually has multiple images worked into a template he uploads as 1-5 uploaded images. One of the intentions is to try to keep the amount of kb's that readers have to download in any one topic to a minimum.

As Scott pointed out, it is quite easy to use a template to place your screenshots on, which will allow you to post more than 5 individual screenshots without exceeding the 5 jpg limit. Case in point: I just recently posted a series of screenshots under the subject of Daring rescue at sea..! and you will note that there are only 5 jpgs (each between 33Kb and 101Kb in size) yet there are in fact 19 individual screenshots placed onto the template I use!Bear!

Hey Bear where can I get that template?

Nathan,I used FSPaint to make the template by simply copying two 700 x XXX screenshots and pasting them onto a blank page (in FSpaint). I then cut the pasted screenshots out and saved the remaining blank page as page onto itself (I use the file name of blankpagewhite.bmp). Then using my editer (Photodraw2000) I paste multiple screenshots onto that blankpage and save under a different file name, but my original file of blankpagewhite.bmp is always there. Nothing to it really!Bear!
