Multipayer Problem

Featured Replies

Hey guys,Thi is a problem I have not been able to solve. In multiplayer in FS2k2 PRO, i can only see the first person who joined, and nobody else. I can see other names in the chat box and talk to them through it and talk to them on RW but not see them. Anyone else have this problem? Know how to fix it?Thanks In Advance!

All I can do is add my name to yours hoping for an answer ... I have the same problem, it seems. Hope you get a reply here!Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Hi guys,FS2002 multiplayer is very buggy and this kind of problem is common. One thing to check however is that you are not blocked behind a firewall and that your IP is fully accessable via public internet. Multiplayer uses the DirectX DirectPlay architecture and this is 'peer to peer' where each player transmits and receives to all other players, without there really being a 'host'. This causes problems keeping connections stable and accurate for all users.Another thing to help is to download FS HOST which is an alternate hosting program that you (or another host) can run and then all users connect to that. It is much more reliable. Hope that helps!-Damian

Hi Mark,I just took a look at MP-Lite. It seems to work good. Now we have a reliable multiplayer mode! Thanks to the author of this nice utility!-Damian

Does MP-Lite eliminate the need for FS's default IP MP mode altogether? I also wonder if it eliminates the famous "sinking below the runway" issue when observing other users aircraft. I'd assume it must send the other users' state data to FS somehow... Perhaps it does a better job of it?
