fs2002.cfg description

Featured Replies

Maybe I am looking in the wrong places, but I can't find a description of the fs2002.cfg format. Anyone knows where to find one, i.e. a complete overview of all the tags and their functions in the config file ?thx, Dr.J

The cfg file is basically a text file that stores all the settings you adjust using the FS2002 Settings sliders - if you look at the file whilst in the FS2002 settings screen, you should see how the two tie up.In general, I don't think that you can manually edit the file much, so best to leave adjustments to the dedicated screen within FS2002.

Too bad MS never bothered to describe the fs2002.cfg format - but how did the community then find those undocumented tags that for instance disable the 'brake' messages ? Or were these revealed by MS developers ?BTW, I am searching for a tag that will prevent FS2002 from indicating what window view I am in (like the red 'COCKPIT VIEW' text in the upper righthand corner).ciao, Dr.J

There are many programmers in this hobby that are smart enough to find these things (with trial and error, as I said). I am not that smart... my programming days are 25 years behind me ;-)I don't hink you will find this in the config though, because in FS2002 it is not an option that you can turn off as it was in FS2000. It looks to me as being hard coded in the program now...somewhere. :-outta Francois :-wave

"At home in the wild"[link:avsim.com/alaska/alaska_052.htm|Don's Alaskan Bush Charters]"Beavers Lead the Way"[link:www.avsim.com/vfr_center/mainpages/vfr_flights_main_page.htm]VFR Flight Center]"Looking Good Outside"

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75b.gifhttp://www.fssupport.com/images/moose2.gif

________________________Francois A.
