May 10, 200224 yr Last time when I chnaged my mabo and CPU, I got System protection Error in XP and the only choice I had is to reinstal windows. Is there a way to go around this without reinstaling windows? Thanks in advance.
May 11, 200224 yr I am not too sure if there is a way around it.But it's recommended that you do a clean install of an O/S after adding things such as a new motherboard and CPU. It will save a lot of problems in the long run :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers

May 11, 200224 yr Hi,I'll be interested to know if you have any issues with validating Windows XP, after this re-install.Thanks,Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
May 11, 200224 yr I had to revalidate with Microsoft for my wife's computer. I don't know why I was in such a hurry to validate since her computer was very unstable anyway (ended up being that the MOBO doesn't like the third stick of memory, seems like this is a big problem with several MOBOs).Finally, after troubleshooting and reinstalling WinXP, I had to dial the 800 number and put in about 25+ numbers. If you are going to have to do this, don't use a miniture cell phone, trying to press those numbers is a pain. The process went smoothly on the part of Microsoft. Bill Sieffert
