June 21, 200223 yr Right now, I have an ASUS Geforce2 MX in my P3-1000 with 512 meg PC133 SDRAM. It is a full MX -- not an MX200 or 400.Now, I don't believe that it is "value for money" to upgrade this card to the fastest, bestest Geforce 4 .So what would be a realistic match for this processor - ?Thanks
June 21, 200223 yr Your best buy will be GF3 Ti200 for about $100. GF2 Tis are abour $80 so $20 extra for GF3 is worth. Try www.pricewatch.com
June 21, 200223 yr Hey Bazza,I have the GeForce 4 Ti4400 and it's a great card. I had to suffer (and I mean suffer) through using a GF2 MX for a few days, it couldn't handle the 1600x1200 @ 32bit resolution, simming was a non event. I think your best bang for buck would be a GF4 Ti4200, they're a good quick card. Retailers have just started getting their stock in here in Brisbane. They retail for around the $415 - $420 mark. Which isn't too much more than the GF Ti500.Check these sites for prices:http://www.gamedude.com.au/pricesG.html - Rochedale shopping village (Best prices, not so good service from what I have read)http://www.umart.com.au/index2.phtml?bid=2- Douglas St, Milton (Good prices, good service.)www.thediscshop.com.au - Creek Road, Mansfield (Good selection, prices and service.)Also, http://www.secret.com.au/cgi-bin/computers/index.pl (Sydney based, some of the best prices Aus wide)http://www.pcrange.biz/a_gw.html (Adelaide Based, he's bringing in some Gainward GF4 Ti4200s and GF3 Ti200s)Hope this helps mate :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
